Carl, Good evening,,, I'm always looking for new and tasteful restaurants to try If I'm ever in your neck of the woods again, I will for sure let you know. The dish you've described sounds wonderful! I'm not a huge fan of beans myself, but if you say they are delicious... I'm taking your word for it. I passed along a killer recipe to Clint this past week. It's a Tex-Mex number called mucha cerveza It involves flat iron steak, a killer marinade, and beer of course! Let me know Carl, I'll send it Airborne status all the best texan, Jem
Hi Jem, this will give me another thing to look forward to doing ;-)) Also, have you ever been to an Italian place called; Carrabbas? I have-and they are pretty good too. A tad bit expensive but worth it ;-)) Johnny Carinos I also like very much but I can't stand: The Olive Garden. They are OK, but not great. Oh and, some fo the Mom-n-Pop eateries iv'e been to here are 5 star IMO. I don't remember the names of those places but, i'd definately go there again. There is a nice BBQ place that also serves Mex food-which is located in an older part fo town and about a mile from where my Grandmother lived-which is excellent. I had been, cheese, meat, and Jalepeno Nachos as my dinner. You get enough in the order to make at least two meals. The beans side dish at F.Ws-I think I know exactly what they do when cooking them-which does make all the difference in the world to how they will taste as well as how much time they need to cook. One of my ex-neighbors in Corpus, used to make a large pot of beans about twice a month-not to be cheap but-he loved beans THAT much. Anyway, he used only filtered water from his British Berkfeld Water Purification System. It takes out all those Minerals and such that are in everyday drinking Wasser-and also in taking out that stuff, the beans cook in a faster time-I think by at least 1-2 hrs-and they do taste great. Anyway, I THINK that's what Fajita Willies does when making their beans.
C... I have heard of Carrabbas, very good Italian We have a Carino's right by my work... Yummy. I use to work there when I was in school. The restaurant biz has an interesting vibe... both work enviornment, and social setting,,, especially the party scene. I learned a lot in the area of multi-tasking and the art of customer service. I'm with ya on Olive Garden.... that's a no go! I'll send you the recipe via PM Jem

Hi mark, Clint does have some great recipies. Sorry I forgot to answer you about it but got the recipe and will try it sometime. Also, if interested? ill see if if can find ""Chili Bills"" recipe for Chili that he made for John Wayne on many an occasion. John Wayne loved his Chili. Bill is a member of both the http://www.ww2f.com/free-fire-zone/www.dukewayne.com site as well as John Wayne site. He started his association with John Wayne by getting a part as an extra Cavalryman in Rio Grande, and also had parts in She Wore A Yellow Ribbon and other Duke and James Stewart movies. Anyway, he also used to cook for John Wayne, but also was one of his personal Pilots. Ill see if I cna find his recipe for Dukes Chili, and will give it to you. Also, did you know that they have a line of John Wayne brand of Beef Jerkey?/ I hear its very good but have not had any yet.
