Our predicted -14 turned into -21 as the night passed and we set a new record for the goundhog night.....think I would have roosted with the chickens if I had a chicken house.(only to keep warm) If formerjugheads chickens lived here their red part would have turned blue last night for sure. Coyotes are noisy in the back yard when it gets cold........they wish I had a chicken but they have to make do with an occasional cat from the neighbor.

We only had a dusting of snow the other day, but we're now getting gale force winds and torrential rain.

Spring is just around the corner!! Temperatures in the 40's today and the snow is starting to melt off the roof. Good thing too, went snowmobiling and if you stepped off the sled you were immediately up to your gonads!

In South Texas, had a number of days in a row with my car frosted over in the morning. They don't sell ice scrapers here, so I asked my family to send one.

Winter is back with a vengeance. So far we have not received the 6 to 8 inches of snow they were calling for but still looking at the "new" forecast of 3 to 6 inches tonight. What ya' going to do? I finally got some time off from the wallboard taping, painting, flooring installation etc:
If you have a little scrap lumber laying around, 100 feet of rope and an old tarp you can do this:

Northern Minnesota about 60 miles from our Canadian friends. We still have over 2 feet of ice on the lakes and over a foot of packed snow on the ground. Our daughter said it was 70 degrees in Illinois today so I had to show her what we do when it is 20 degrees here and 35 mph winds.

SO DO I !!! 5 months of winter is enough already! We've had snow on the ground since the beginning of November and I'd be willing to share it.

Heh heh, ill call up Gov Rick Perry and ask him to send you a fleet of Semis to start lugging it back here. Ill gladly trade you heat and 90% humidity for a few more weeks of freezing temps ;-))

Ah the spring surprise. We missed out on the big storm up here so far, but I do not like the 1 day 40 degree temp swing. Oh well. Still have outside work to do. I will look funny riding my tractor with snow swirling around me.

Yeah, we here in Billings have had our first spring snow storm. But that isn't in any way unusual, I remember when I was home on summer break, and just decided to quit college and enlist in the Navy the day RFK was assassinated. June 6th was the morning I heard the news, and looked out at about six inches of fresh new snow on the ground. Of course here in Montana there is only one month a year which has never had measurable snow-fall since records have been kept; August.

I've heard the same about Minnesota Clint. I think July is the only month with no measurable snowfall here. Two years ago it came close; the temps dropped to the mid-upper 30's at night and if conditions had changed just a little? We dodged another bullet last night, the 100% chance for snow fizzled out (we received none), and the wind gusts have lessened to 20-25 mph from the 35-40 yesterday.

The highs have been in the low 80s all week, with a slight breeze. Lows at night get down to the low to mid 60s. Not bad.

Our lows only get to about mid 70s with no breezes and humidity still at about 80% I know you guys have it rougher-Louisiana, Ala, and Fla, but this early to feel this lousy=flat out--sucks prune pits.

my iPhone says it's 25 degrees. My doberman tells me it's rabbit season. My shotgun says it's time to kill squirrels, yet my heart yearns for grouse..my dog agrees. Who does a guy listen to?

Better come wearing thongs and tongs, or you will probably pass out from the heat and humidity. I did twice last year ending up in the hospital both times.
