'Market-Garden' Then & Now

....will be published on September 17.

The 'After The Battle' team have been working on this book for eight years. It will in fact be two volumes totalling 750 pages and 2300 illustrations. Will it be up to their usual standard ? For those willing to to risk it there's a 10 percent pre-publication discount.

.....it arrived here in a large box this morning !

At a first 'flick through', looks to be well up to the usual 'After The Battle' standard. There's a lot of stuff to read through - it'll take me weeks !

For sure, it's a 'must have' for Arnhem buffs....

 

Have a copy of the magazine after the battle for Arnhem, thought Id, seen and read most of the available stuff on the battle. This edition of the magazine had pics in I had never come across before and additional information I must have read past or forgotten...In a condenssed form it has to be one of the best accounts of the battle of 1st Airborne.

Still think for a good read, Martin Gilberts account is outstanding.

 

Think you probably mean Middlebrook, not Gilbert ? ( Too many Martins.... )

If so, I'd agree - Martin M's 'Arnhem 1944' is one that I've re-read about 4 times now.

After adding to the forums last night I had to go disturb the whole house, cursing and cussing as books fell from shelves all over the place...
Revisisting old mates on the bookshelves..

This forum is like santa giving me an extra Christmas present this year..Good stuff.

But I tend to quote from memory rather than take the time to go searching my shelves or Url's...makes for good input from others though when they have to think..hold on thats not right...cheers..
