    Heya,

Just started to read a little about Marshal Petain and I was wondering if anyone here had read any good books about him?

In particular I am more interested in reading about him heading the Vichy government. Perhaps shed more light on his collaboration with the Nazis and how directly involved he was with policy making in Vichy France.

I've seen Paul Websters 'Petains Crime' and may give it a closer look, anybody read it?

    Thanks.

Some books about le maréchal, haven't read them, but it may help you a bit:

"Vichy boyhood : an inside view of the Pétain régime" by Pascal Jardin

"Pétain : gloire et sacrifice" by Jacques Le Groignec

"Pétain et la France : la Seconde Guerre mondiale" by Jean Raymond Tournoux

"De Blum à Pétain : cinéma et société française (1936-1944)" by François Garçon

"Pétain: Hero or Traitor: The Untold Story" by Herbert R. Lottman
