    True.

Although they did make an interceptor version (AF-12?) - but in prototype form only.

    It's the YF-12

    http://www.sr-71.org/blackbird/yf-12/

I think of the Blackbirds the A-12 is the best looking one (it's also the fastest?!)!

    hi me262,

    Geschwader Kommodore Major Franz Götz

Yellow 10” (serial 836017) was delivered to Jagdgeschwader 26 in March 1945, within two months of VE-Day. It was flown by Maj. Franz Götz (63 victories), the last JG-26 commander, who retained the Pik As (ace of spades) emblem of his previous unit, JG-53. Yellow 10 (Götz’s “lucky number”) was one of five long-nose 190s taken to the U.S. for evaluation. Of those, only three remain including two owned by the National Air and Space Museum. Subsequently 836017 was donated to Georgia Tech, and after years of neglect it was acquired by David Kyte in California. Doug Champlin learned of the derelict fighter and in 1972 purchased it for shipment to Germany. There Art Williams of Guenzburg began a four-year restoration with assistance from Prof. Kurt Tank. Many missing parts had to be found or manufactured but the project was largely completed in 1976 and returned to the U.S. As the only privately-owned 190D, the “Dora” was the crown jewel of the Champlin collection in Mesa, Arizona. In 2001 a complete rebuild was begun by Gosshawk Aviation, directed by Dave Goss at Falcon Field. The result is perhaps the most authentic, airworthy Luftwaffe aircraft in North America. Yellow 10 now resides in her new home at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington.

Maybe you should try using real web browsers? Like Opera and Firefox?

I'm sorry, I didn't realise that IE was not a real web browser. Obviously MS just ship it to confuse people.

Come on, it's blatent MS hatred and snobbery. IE is a perfectly acceptable browser and people who set their site up like that are just software snobs. He probable uses Linux and open office or worse won't touch a PC as they are unclean unlike his luverly MAC. (which is no doubt very sticky from all luvin he gives it) [IMG]

Well, if you want to use IE, then use it. I just happen to love tabbed browsing and other nice features which IE cannot give me but its competitors can.

This is somebodies cue to say 'TSR2' - but to me this plane is not beautiful. It is not ugly, but it is basically a pointed box with a triangle stuck on top.
Geometrically pleasing yes - beautiful no. ;)

    Beautiful aircraft.

I see that someone has cited the "De Havilland Hornet"...what a gorgeous plane, but the Hawker Hunter or the Grumman Tigercat are pretty damned good also. But for sheer power and grunt, the looks of the "Hawker Tempest and Sea Fury" take a lot of beating !
    Malladyne.

It's an old topic, but I couldn't resist refreshing it.

First of all: the B-2 is nice when you look at it from above or below, but look at thit from this perspecticve:

Horrbile. My choices as far as contemporary airplanes are concerned are the Tomcat and Blackbird whereas WWII planes... now here the choice is big. Me262 for sure, MiG-3

    I'd also name the P-38.
