A few years ago (2006) I forked out the full tariff of a c-note and took a ride in the "Aluminum Overcast" B-17G on June 7th. It was here in Billings MT. for only two days, 6 & 7, but after it flew over my house once I couldn’t resist. At my size 6’3" and with my old age bulk, ten pounds over my youthful weight (250 now), I was rather amazed at how small those things are inside compared to their outside impression. A person could "wander" around, including the nose position but not the tail (really small), or the ball turret (even smaller).

Still a wonderful experience, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Even with the hour or so of pre-flight crud, the ½ hour flight was well worth the bucks. Unfortunately, I had taken my camera with me but in the hour of diddling around I set it down and forgot about it until we were airborne! It was still sitting there where I left it when I left, but NO photos of the flight!

Then to top that off, when my old ‘puter took a dump on me in 2007, the new Vista wouldn’t recognize my Vivitar and I couldn’t upload anything from it to the ‘puter in the pictures section, so even the pics on the ground were lost. I have since sold that camera and bought a newer model which is compatible with Vista.

I do envy your ride here bud, I knew there was at least one B-24 flying still but I was unaware of rides being offered. Great experience for myself, I'm sure it was for you and one NO-ONE should pass up if the chance appears.
