Thanks a lot Skipper! And yes, i think it is a beaverdam on that picture. By the way, many thanks on the info concerning that coin!
Now problem, these were the cheap zinc coins issued during the war becasue pewter and copper was reserved in priority for the Germans
Very cool stuff! interesting indeed. I was wondering can you just walk into places like that and start digging or do you have to get a licsense and digging permit? Just curious as I ve lways wanted to do that.
Yes you are supposed to apply for a permit . You can't just walk into a private property and start messing up people's land. It's all depends whether you want to dig and use a detector or if you just want to get a few souvenirs. In this case a permission from the owner would be "ok". You can also go to the middle of nowhere and not ask, but that's your business and I won't encourage people to do that, but to tell the truth who hasn't dug a bit here and there in a field just in case a piece of metal shows up. I suppose authorities know how to make the difference about a tourist who finds something harmless for a collection and someone dangerous who plays with amno. Whatever happens do NEVER EVER take amno with you. It's illegal and dangerous and really not worth it.
And again some interesting finds from the Hurtgen Forest. Like a U.S. helmet in bad shape, German 37mm shell, U.S. pocket knife, U.S. art.labels, part of an Hitler Jugend knife, German drink cup etc. All the live ammo went back in the ground!
Indeed, it is not commen to find that on a battlefield, first time i found one of those, it whas still in an clip when i found it, but it broke!
hi .ed once again you make me envy your great time relic hunting well done mate keep up the great work best krieg
Some wonderful finds again Ed. I like these a lot because they are mostly ppersonnal items. The HJ knive is a nice relic. I like the glove with the inscription. also the flaslight top. It almost looks the light bulb could still work. (I know it's impossible, but just the thought is cool)
Hi Guys, me and a friend went to the Hurtgenwald forest last week, I had some time off work due to a change of job, so the best way to spend free time is rooting around battlefields Gun emplacement in Folkstone Cemetery at Hurtgen Cemetery at Vossenack
Ed, I have a question about the very last picture; is that an authentic Nazi toad, or a replica? (LOL)

Last friday i went on my own to visit some spots i've been before. And with luck as you will see in the pictures. I found my first German beltbuckle (steel) in mint condition! At the end of the day, when i stopped for a short break om my way back home, i had an encounter with the German police and they searched my backpack and car. But everything was fine and all my finds where for me to keep, pwfeee! I thought they would take all my finds because its forbidden to search, the only thing they asked was if i found any ammo! Well lucky for me i do not collect those kind of items!!!!!!!!! 1st spot, a mudpool with the following items: 2nd spot, a german dugout / trench:
