As requested, I will try and find a complete side view but I am not at home and the pics are on my portable hard drive. View attachment 14910
Close enough Its a Mk 1 Canadian Armoured Snowmobile. The last pic I posted was of the one in kubinka. Some went to Russia, some to the UK but they found a niche use in the boggy ground in Italy where there is at least one still on display A SURVEY OF ARMY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT 1939-45, dated 14th feb 1955. Ok I have found a line drawing of this vehicle in 'Russian Tanks of WW2, Stalins Armoured Might, by Tim Bean and Will Fowler'. It is described as a T46 although the description in the write up does not fit too well with the image, or of images I have found for other T46's (the Soviets did use the same designation more than once though) showing them with Christie suspension. My starting point for searching the last few days has been the T50 light tank which has a similar track layout. View attachment 14956
I can still only find actual photos of the T46-1 and T46-5 and more mentions of a T46 but alas no pic, which look to be based on the T26 and BT Series one is stated at around 14 tonnes the other 28 tonnes and are replacements for either the T26 or the BT. This image from AHF View attachment 14957
i'll take another stab, hehe, could it be a t86gmc with a 105mm gun? the first time i looked at it i didn't see a certain item
Getting closer but not the T86. The T87 had the 105mm gun. Much much closer but this vehicle had some important differences. View attachment 15033 T86 76mm View attachment 15034 T87 105mm
