Ok gents, we have two quotes offered for contemplation, and they are as follows; 1. "gaze upon my manly face and tell me what you see" 2. "Now there's another thing I want you to remember. I don't want to get any messages saying that "we are holding our position." We're not holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose and we're going to kick him in the ass. We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose!" A salute for the rogue who gets both of them, since collectorww2 is asleep at the bumpers....
No man, it's THE D.I. Great movie too. Can't believe you fonked that one up dude! Still my turn, so here goes.... "did you see that Ranger patch?"
I dismissed The DI because it's not a War Movie: The DI is not a War Movie at all. Good lord man if we're not careful there will be folks in here posting quotes from Sisterhood of the Traveling pants or High School Musical 6. I think I am going to have to report that post and see to it that you pull a stretch. We'll see if that takes the starch out of you. Maybe then you'll think twice before you go posting things all willy nilly accross the internet that have no bearing or jurisprudence to the topic. We can't allow that type of behavior to become the norm, Anarchy is what we'd have and then where would we be? A damned right Saco and Vanzetti you are. I bet if you had things your way everyone would be guessing show tunes and costume designers.
"The Boys in Company C" wasn't a WW2 movie. So I take it that you can't guess the movie quote I served up, eh?
That's beside the point and don't direct this back at me....It was at least a War Movie though and it proves my point precisely: By not sticking to the rules that were handed down in the inaugural post in this thread you have created an environment ripe for instilling anarchist beliefs.
This quote wasn't from a WW2 movie either. Still can't guess the quote in post #186? Hint #1 It's from a WW2 movie.
My default answer for all movie quotes that reference "Rangers": Saving Private Ryan When Capt. Miller walks in to the headquarters it's something the pogues say when gazing upon his aoura. Now back to the discussion..............You're right, I broke the rules first.
It takes a big man to admit that he's wro....ok, now that we got that business out of the way. Great exchange, and well devised, and not to mention very enjoyable.... No, it's not SPR, it's from "Darby's Rangers" with James Garner. The last scene, when Garner (as Darby) is walking across the beach towards the landing craft, some replacements are walking the opposite direction, and one calls out "hey, did you see that Ranger patch!" At that point, Garner, who was slogging across the beach, stood erect, chest pushed out and with his best game face on marched off to the rousing tunes of martial music. That sort of convinced me as a kid to start thinking of doing that when I joined the army. Funny how things like that work out. I was thinking about joining the Marine Corps.... Now, consider this one; "God save us all"
"God save us all" This quote is from "The Devil's Brigade." One of the Canadian officers said that when he saw the initial US contribution to the unit. Here's a new one. "What's that T5 there?" "It's a training squadron sir, the Poles." "Get them down!"
Bingo, a great movie! I got it on Netflix awhile back, and even though it "lacked" the benefit of modern CGI, it was a well made and very enjoyable movie, even though there weren't any Americans, John Wayne, US Marines or Paratroopers in it.... Your turn urqh. Give us a good one.
