I've read where Steve McQueen's performance as an angry a-hole was not just acting skills. He, along with others in the cast were not exactly happy with the lack of financial investments by the studio. There were mis-functioning weapons and equipment, not enough items to go around, and only 3 or 4 men to be the Germans, who had to be killed over and over again. Also, McQueen was p1ssed over missing out on another project that would have paid more. He was an a-hole anyway from what I've read, and this made him more so of one. Still your turn Brad.
If someone has one burning a hole in their pocket go ahead and Tee it up. I found a couple new movies I am going to sit down and watch; then I'll fire something up, untill then feel free to carry on.
Ok, since Brad is out of the loop watching war movies while spit-shining his work shoes and smoking cigars, I'll throw one in from one of his favorite movies; "the sun got in my eyes" "yeah, I heard it hit"
Right you are my friend, that's at least an 80 yard punt in the making. Welcome to the big league boys! Hint #1; it's not listed in the "memorable quotes" section of imdb.com!
This one's been hanging around since September, and only one half-hearted guess was made. Anyone feel like trying again? Hint #3: It was centered on a heroic Marine Corps stand in the early days of WW2.
Sounds like Wake Island...not a US victory, but we certainly showed the Japanese there were some serious flaws in their perceptions of us. Not sure what movie it would be, though...
Heh. Didn't know there was a movie by that name (shoulda guessed....although I do recall tiny RKO getting the rights to a major battle's name out from under the larger studios, didn't know if they'd made a movie though), I was just guessing at the location based on the clues. Now I'm gonna have to try to find that movie!!! ETA: just looked up "Wake Island"...it was a Paramount production. Now the name of the RKO film is gonna bug me all night long...
