Wahoo!! Although I suspect that Mike set aside "x" number of minutes for me to guess before he stepped in!! lol OK, lets try this...
Outrageous class. I'll say Glorious. Then I'll say Courageous. Then, just for spite, I'll say Furious.
Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner. How the heck do you get them so quick???? That particular pic is Glorious. Take it away.
You, sir, are on a roll. As uncomfortable as that sounds, it's still up to you to post the next picture.
She was rumoured to be Canda's first corvette and was one of the first to be built in Canada for Canada. She is a flower class though. Have a couple more guessees and if noone gets her I'll put Mike in.
May not be able to get back online until tomorrow, so Mike can put one up for being the first to name a Flower class corvette.
Looks like Collingwood was the first Flower completed in Canada: 9 Nov 40 at Collingwood yard. Whether that's right or not, I defer to Mike for the next pic.
Here is one. She had many names, under a few countries, so I'll take any of a few. This pic was taken with her time in a navy not previously discussed in this thread.
She could be anything from a coastguard to a gunboat a minesweeper or even a tug .... but I can't find anything that looks exactly like her. Some near misses Finnish Turumnaa Portuguese Lagos Lituanianian Prezidentas Smetona Cosest resemblance I could find is Estonian Virsaitis but as she was an ex German M minesweeper she must have lots of sisters
Yes, the Prezidentas Smetona is correct. Other names where the German minesweeper M59, or under Soviet control Pirmūnas or Koral
