I'd like to ask what you think of the following books, that I might buy from a collection I saw over there... </font> "Full Circle" by J. E. 'Johnie' Johnson</font> "The small back room" by Nigel Balchin</font> "The Battle of Britain" by John Ray</font> "Goshawk Squadron" by Derek Robinson</font> "The Damnbusters Raid" by John Sweetman</font> "Last Days of the Third Reich" by James Lucas</font> "Military Mavericks" by David Rooney</font> "Against all odds!" by Bryan Perrett</font> "Military erros of WWII" by Kenneth Macksey</font> "Kamikaze" by Raymond Lamont Brown</font> [ 08. Bit of an odd mixture there, Friedrich.... The only one of the collection that I'd call an absolute, unchallenged classic is Sweetman's 'The Dambusters Raid' which is acknowledged as the standard reference work on its' subject. As for the others....well, 'Goshawk Squadron' hardly qualifies as 'classic' and 'Full Circle' is good, but not a classic in the sense that Johnson's 'Wing Leader' is....
Freddy they are all good books. I got the set for Xmas off the my other half. Depends how much they are gonna cost.
Thanks for the advice, gentlemen! Quite useful! £ 18 —including shipping to the other side of the Atlantic to that little town called Mexico City. I think it is a very good price. By the way, Ross. I've got your paper and I'm going to read it and check it in the next days —had to mark exams and works at school— and tell you. Meanwhile you could watch my novel's illustrations in the thread you already know,
hey general, do you know if i'd be able to get one of those sets. looks good and will cover my reading expenditures for awhile and generate questions that will be posted on the forum. I'd love to get a copy.
