Ross I see you have visited Hyperscale recently ! lovely Typhoon though in above posting..........wonderful ! Straßner score three other kills in standard G-1's and 2 inthis beast that is pictured, though the a/c may have had the stupid frontal Schragwaffen pulled out when he flew the a/c. First with this installation installed the Radar operator could not have performed his task thus altering him back more in the rear gunners lap.........don;t think so ! the a/c also would have been flown by 2staffelkapitän Heinz Rökker but was not. Also in interviews with Heinz himslf through letter and his rear gunner Freidrich Wefelmeier and RK winner bordfünker Anton Heinemann the cao is not correct. Would have been the welle pattern in blue-grey over RLM 76 blue. You can see my posting on AHyperscale forum as I have made comment to this. Aslo the single engine 2cm caused wind drag and excessive noise while flying as well as nosie when firing and vibration to the mounting and canopy. It was probably used for testing purposes and then pulled out in my opinion........ E ~
Thought you might like to see another shot of that Sherman from the first page in the thread. 'Twas built by a friend of mine, Bob Collignon. This was taken at one of our local shops... Fade to Black...
