    In my time I was a keen 1:76 modeller (1:72 was anathema ;) ), and used to do a lot of conversions on Airfix and Matchbox kits. However I never managed to make decent tracks.

    Tracks on small scale kits are quite good now a days. You can even by replacment tracks in etched metal. Which are a great improvement on the kit tracks.
