What i meant was, the knowledge given to the soldiers of 43 must have been better than that in 39-41. The training was shorter meaning they didnt have as much time to practice it wich wasnt good, but, they learned new war techniques wich was drawn from 3-4 years of war-waging experience. Yes the troops of 39-41 most certainly were alot more prepared, but, their knowledge wasnt better ! How could it be ? up til then the germans only knew of trench warfare, and gained some additional techniques in th spanish civil war, but thats all. Dont compare today with WW2. Its not the same. The knowledge was better, as after 4 years of waging war introduces new ways of waging war. (The problem was the little time the recuits had to practice it) Well flying an airplane isnt the same as shooting a gun But this is basicly the same as driving a tank however, and in the last stages of the war alot of German tanks broke down because of inexperinced drivers. So that is a valid point. The knowledge was better ! But a 17 year old boy isnt ready for war, and that was a major declining factor, so was the older men being recruited late in the war.
Agreed, German trainers would have known more about the practice of war from the years of experience they'd had, when training new recruits in 1943. But is this enough to balance the lack of time to train them, and the decline ins tarting quality of the recruits overall due to the seeping away of strong blood from the generation? I doubt it, KBO.
The knowledge was better, but the prepareness wasnt. And prepareness is essential in its own right. So yeah overall the German green grunt of late 43 wasnt as good as the green grunt of 39-41, but, their knowledge in warefare was better !. Fortunatley for the grunts in 43 there were still veterans at the front wich would prepare them the best they could once they would arrive there, and most certainly teach them their own tricks on the way. Oh, your not sure ! Just kidding
The Germans continued their high training standards and didn't significanty reduce the time spent on training until after the summer of 1944. I'll try to find the numbers, but IIRC the Germans spent more time in training at the beginning of 1944 at least than the British did. The Germans were still turning out first class troops in the middle of 1943.
