"Australia and Ireland share a historical connection and remained part of the British Empire until their respective independence. Over 300,000 Irish settlers migrated to Australia to escape poverty in their homeland and over 2 million Australian citizens claim Irish ancestry."

"The contribution of the Irish-born and their descendants to Australian culture generally – to literature, music, sport, the theatre, filmmaking and art – was considerable and continues to this day."

Irish music and blue grass music attest to that.

You know he wasn't a Gunny, right? Ex post facto they promoted him.

The alien-in-human-skin in Men In Black was the suicidal dude in Full Metal Jacket.

I liked him in MIB. The Marine Bootcamp at San Diego was a source of much fun when I was there on the Navy side, hunting deserters. We had a good view of that infamous bridge.

"On most deployments, alcohol is prohibited, although “typically no more than one or two” drinks may be permitted on others. The ADF uses random urine testing for most chemicals, with tailored testing for steroid misuse. Meanwhile, a breath test helps ensure that all personnel do not exceed the alcohol limit."

Just joshing ya CAC. Goes to show Rank doesn't always have it's privileges.

Last time I was in the Indian Ocean. (Or just above it, that is.) we hit the 90 day limit and got two beers each. Like kissing your sister over the telephone. I gave it a pass. (Well, we were 36 hours of Fremantle.)
