I can't say how his wife thought for sure? but I always heard that the General would have wanted to be buried alongside his men. Im glad his wish was honored by his family, but wish that that darned accident wouldn't have ended such a brillient yet controversial Generals; career. Can you imagine what could have been different about the Korean War-had Patton been in command instead of MacArthur? ;-)) I think it would have been a different war than what we are all reading about.

One things seem for sure about modern Generals of today-that it appears (do to my limited knowledge and such) that there are no Generals today who are anything like the great ones that partook in WWII-from whichever nation you so choose to get examples from.

Sadly, all too true. Same goes with many of the Generals of WWII.

"Patton" the movie is definitely one from my collection that gets played a lot. I like how it starts close to the beginning of the American involvement in ww2 and follows it right through. I also think it's good because it loosely follows how the war was won, so not only a entertaining movie, but a bit of history too.
Apparently the soundtrack was used to end a seige on terrorists as well, (or something simliar)... This was mentioned on the special features of the dvd i have.
