Any more news on that Stefan? I've just heard the same from elsewhere but can't yet find any corroboration. The Brake (or 'a' brake) appears to be there on shots taken later than thursday.

I've also just found out that there is at least one T34/85 in this country with a non-deactivated main gun held under a class one firearms licence. Looks like one of those above but I'll have to check.

    Cheers,
    Adam.

The latter I did know and I believe it is one of the vehicles there owned by a chap called Tim.

No news on the muzzle break though, I'll let you know what I hear.

The Largest classic Military vehicle show in the world mate, held yearly in Kent, England.
I'd recommend any International ww2 obsessives planning on visiting the UK to try and squeeze the show into their itinerary, it really is world class.

    2008 show: 16th-20th of July. ;)

Some more pics taken by mates at this bizarre event:
(apologies for the slightly oversize nature of some. didn't want to resize other peoples stuff on a shared photobucket dump)

Thanks for posting the pics, Adam. On reflection, although the availability of militaria on the stalls is inevitably declining the selection of vehicles at Beltring this year was amazing ; the best I've ever seen. The weather was a real shame but then, it's ruined just about everything here this summer ( with the glorious exception of Flying Legends.. ).

    Roll on 2008 ! :)

My little group of tank-nerds feels the same Martin, the number of interesting vehicles seems to be climbing out of all proportion to the year between shows. last year we noticed a large increase in the number of tatty Kubels and schwimmers... this year they all seemed to have been nicely restored. Quite rare British armoured cars appear to be getting thicker on the ground too. Normally things like the FV432 don't really float my boat but to see so many in the arena alongside all those scimitars and sabres etc. was great fun, & a running Centurion turning up at last made my weekend. Now if only a Churchill would show up again...
More power to the restorers elbows!

Well, I'll just sneak in one more pic of a less-spectacular vehicle ; my excuse being that my Dad drove one in Brussels at the end of the War.....:)

This is pornography for tank nerds, stop it.
I'll try and make next year.

I recently saw the Mk 1 Morris Quad with 50 Div. colours in the photo for sale, complete with 25 pdr and limber, for £15000.
I tried hard to talk the wife into it, telling her the tractor would be perfect for pulling a box with our horses in it, and the gun would be a talking point on our front lawn.
    The Philistine-ess remained totally unmoved..............

That sounds like quite a bargain price....I took a good look at this combination at Beltring but sadly didn't take a photo ; it looked superb.....

Why dodn't you sell the Citroen and get this instead ? Wedding transport with a Unique Sales Proposition ;)

The fuzzy dice on the rear view mirror are a nice touch.

Hey! At least it's running rather than rusting ;).
(would it be OK if I said I think it's a postwar French Hotchkiss?)

Got my yearly Christmas card from Beltring yesterday... cunningly containing the booking form.

Only 214 days 22 hours 14 minutes to go!

I'm absolutely devastated that a prior family engagement will keep me from Beltring next Saturday ( I go on Saturday every year  )

However, I am determined to engineer a quick visit during the week if I possibly can .....;)

    Grim news Martin. :(
Seems Sommecourt and a fair few others are having trouble getting there this year too.

Don't worry, I'll spend a bit of extra time watching the 38(t) rumble about for you :p.
(No news of the Wheatcroft Panther... first of 3 being restored by his team should be finished around about now, fingers crossed.)

    Good luck!
    Adam.
