I went looking for information on Albert Earnest and found this article written by him about the TBF detachment at Midway - thought some might enjoy it. http://home.comcast.net/~r2russ/midway//aa-reports/tbf-detach.pdf
Not expecting you to perforate yourself..... That seems to be an example of how history is often the result of the people who record it.
Thanks, I had not seen that picture of him, but I recognized his eyes. What is the significance of the woman in this picture?
She was not in the military, nor was any of her family. She was not in the movies or any other intertainment venue.
(This is off topic) But, did you guys happen to see the special on National Geographic about the city of Memphis and their work to get the "Belle" hangered and restored out on Mud Island (I think that was the name)? It was wonderful, they had Margaret Polk there for the ceremony, I forget her married name. But the largest contingent of B-17s since WW2 did an overflight, but instead of bombs they dropped rose pedals on the place. And as the pedals setteled in Margaret's lap you could see tears in her eyes. It was a great little documentary.
Ok. Here´s my question. I really dont know if I made this too hard or too easy, but if you cant guess/know this immediately, I have to give you hints about this. Ok. In the picture, there´s definately a tank, but which three nations did the main parts of this tank, which parts they were and what is the tank? All three nations participated to WW2.
