    sort of - a heavily modified hotchkiss collaboration, operated by someone other than France :)

    It is the Hotchkiss Benet, but with a unique modification only AFAIK used by one country (used in WW2)

    no it was a Mannlicher round, but that wasn't the modification I was looking for really :)

    (to be fair it isn't that easy to see in the photo, but if you figure out the user it will come to you)

    The buttstock and the tripod mounting is different.

    they existed with the standard shoulder stock as well and other tripod/bipod set ups too.

    what if i told you it was a 6.5mm mannlicher?

    if you get the country that is enough :)

    :) yes. the mod was that they made it belt fed instead of clips so that the actual ROF was doubled.

    To fill in some more information about that gun, here is some more information from the website that mg is being sold( British .303cal Portative Display LMG: WWI - International Military Antiques ).

    Original Item: British WWI manufacture, these are the Hotchkiss pattern "Portative" cavalry Display Machine Guns constructed from all original parts on a machined display receiver. Complete with markings, Crows Foot Tripod and detachable "L" shoulder stock. These were extensively used in WWI, being the first "portable" machine gun. Very intricate and very rare.
