I've just heard that this very good historical political writer, Roy Jenkins, author of the bestselling biographies of Churchill, Roosevelt, Truman and Gladstone, and former tory politician, passed away this year. For those who hasn't read one of his books, let me tell you that Mr. Jenkins - thanks to his own personal political experience - gives us a very deep and elegant view of other politicians in his biographies, thing iwhich many historians can't achieve. Rest in peace, Mr. Jenkins!
