Walt Disney Productions - Four Methods Of Flush Riveting - Aircraft Manufacturing

This cartoon shows how to rivet an airplane so that the rivets are flat to the surface to avoid turbulence caused by raised areas on the aircraft's skin.
This short was produced by the Disney Studios for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, distributed by National Film Board of Canada.
This is very important historically as being Walt Disney's "pilot" effort to show how effective animation could be used in training films.

Walt Disney WW2 Army Air Forces Film: Camouflage

The widespread familiarity of Walt Disney's productions benefited the US government in producing support for the war.
In "Camouflage", the purpose is a bit different -- it's an attempt to educate members of the U.S. Army Air Forces about this vital skill.
In it, Hoodie the Chameleon explains the importance of camouflage and decoys for equiment and ground installations against aerial attacks.

Walt Disney Productions - Victory Through Air Power (1943)

    See also: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnfgySee_vE8O1Q0ycmzLIw

This is a unique film in Disney Production's history. This film is essentially a propaganda film selling Major Alexander de Seversky's theories about the practical uses of long range strategic bombing.
Using a combination of animation humorously telling about the development of air warfare, the film switches to the Major illustrating his ideas could win the war for the allies.
After its initial release and re-release in 1943-44, the film was never publicly released or screened in the United States again for 60 years.
Only the opening fragment of the "History of Flight" was shown on Disney specials.
This changed in May 2004, when Disney released a fully re-mastered and uncut version of "Victory Through Air Power" on the Disney Masterpieces "On the Front Lines" DVD set.

Walt Disney was already working on a picture about the history of aviation when production began on this film, so that material was used as a prologue.

After seeing the movie (at Winston Churchill's urging), Franklin D. Roosevelt finally committed to a full strategic air campaign against Germany.

All of Alexander de Seversky's live-action monologue sequences were filmed on the Disney backlot late at night to avoid noise pollution from the nearby Lockheed aircraft factory.

RKO Radio Pictures (Disney's usual distributor) saw no profit in this movie, and refused to carry it. Walt Disney therefore contracted with United Artists for theater distribution.

When Alexander de Seversky worried that he was unable to both speak and hit his marks simultaneously, director H.C. Potter
reminded him of all that he had had to do from his flying days and told him, in a mock Russian accent, to "diwide the attention."
Seversky loved that so much that it became a signal word when filming began; whenever shooting was about to begin, the crew would shout, "Diwide the attention!"

    Factual errors
The film claims the German's used air power to break through the Maginot line to conquer France. In reality, the German forces avoided directly engaging the Line and instead completely circumvented it.

I stumbled upon this Soviet Red Army Air Force Training Film for Air Force pilots on the strengths and weakness points of Ju 87 D-3 Stuka Dive Bomber.

Vastly superior to it's Allied Counterparts.
