Maybe they all come from different worm holes in time, since obviously time is a continuous ongoing circle. Geez.
In a past life I was sort of into sarcasm. And awesome.
    Not much has changed.
And maybe only really really really special folks get to come back. Being that everyone thinks they are really really special....you may have a point!
This has become a pretty fun little thread.

And there's other weird things, like leaving a tape recorder at Ghettysburg and hearing battle sounds on it.

    I've always wondered about the " Collective Consciousness". Where we are all connected by an inter 'something'. I guess we'll never know. Sorta' like Quantum and String Theory, just because they say it is doesn't necessarily mean it is. Might as well throw this into the mix too;
The Big Bang theory: Fact or just another excuse for "Gee we really don't know but it sounds good"?

Audio paredolia. Like the "ghost voices" that only sound like voices if you're expecting them to sound like voices.

    I got nothing.
    "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof."
    I'm just sayin'

No empirical proof, just synchronistic speculation....

Funny, considering the number of people that claim to be incarnate from Titanic victims, the ship would have foundered due to overcrowding long before it hit the iceberg.

Notice how it's always widely publicised events that people make these sorts of claims for. Never sunk on a fishing boat (a far more likely occurance), it's always "The Titanic" or the "Empress of Ireland" or the "Lusitania".

Just remember, spiritualism is just another cult; a little wider in it's cultural distribution, but it's still a cult.

There is as much proof for the ancient cults (Diana, Artemis, Isis, Jupiter, The Julian Emperors as living Gods).

It ALWAYS boils down to "FAITH".....So it's the same as any other religon....BUNKUM.

Why should we be worried about post death occurances anyway?...you'll be dead then, so it certainly will not impact on you. This 'head in the clouds' type of belief is suprising for all the ninnies it manages to drag into it's vortex.

Worry more about getting on with life as we know it, Jim. The consequences of this are immediate and gratifying. And no more time watsed on such silly beliefs. Life is far too short.

My freinds just had their first child die in a cot death...What sort of memories will the little one's reincarnated future selves have of this "life", eh?

I've heard New Age people make all sorts of barmy claims, including being able to talk to dolphins, (not just 'sqeek' at them, actually understand them!). The "New" Age is such an old idea dressed up in a snazzy 'modern' shirt.

And of course, the proof of it's existence ALWAYS comes back to a doctrinal matter of FAITH....

    Hogwash of the first degree.

To be honest, since ive started reading about NDE and Reincarnation, and all of that (Many Lives, Many Masters) my quality of life has improved 100 times. I don't fear death, im impartial to it, sure it might sadden me to see someone i love go but at the same time i know its their time, and its in their plan. I can say honestly without having to worry about an abstract thing like death, i live my life to the fullest.

Whatever floats your boat. However, you might want to read both sides of the debate before you get too committed to the idea.

I have, but at the same time there are too many coincidences between NDE and reincarnation stories ive read to believe the arguments from the other side. And at the end of the day why fear it, its not like your gonna know your dead, and even if you do theres not much you can do about it at the end of the day.

I've read a lot on this and similar phenomena and there isn't anything convincing out there.

Mr. Gardner, thers something I've been dying to ask you....

Not that I place much store by it, but in your avatar it states that you have recieved 318 'salutes" from 216 posts....

    Salutes 'given' amount to 4...

Does this amazing disparity mean that in your 4,864 posts you found precisely FOUR of them that you agreed with or will acknowledge.

I suppose I shouldn't pry, but it seems a large difference. I do realise you are one of our more brilliant posters, (not a cynical comment)....I mean, I've seen your work for many months now, and it deserves accolades. You have been spot on with post subjects that I wouldn't be bother with in a thousand sittings....but for all that, there must have been a lot more than FOUR people that you've agreed with.

Might be amusing to 'search' for those four posts that you saluted....could be worth a read and then some....

interesting video Gardner. However, one glaring weakness in this video is the fact that they are using magnets to trigger these "hallucinations". I consider this a flaw in this expriment for the simple fact that, there are no magnets present when a person has a NDE and such.

EDIT: It is also important to remember that the validity of any good scientific experiment is being able to reproduce the desired effects under the same circumstances. Like i said, magnets are not present when someone flies through a windshield for example. Until they can recreate these hallucinations from pure natural sources, it is hard for me to accept anything they claim as a fundamental truth. (Much the same with the big bang theory for example)

i'll put it this way. the fact that our modern science cannot prove it makes me strongly doubt of this. However Science once believed the earth was flat and evolved when evidence was provided, so I'll have an open minded thought about this
