Hello All I have always been fascinated with the history around WWII and both my grandad and great uncle were in the eighth army during this time. I recently come across this picture. I was wondering if anyone could help me locate the original book this picture is from. I believe it to be my great uncle under the arrow. . Looking at the text on the left it has the clipped word "SINO" maybe Cassino and Sicily. Thanks

Same photo as yours. It's from The Tiger Truimphs. I have it upstairs on my shelf. It won't be the Essex Regt if it the same chaps in the photo above as that was East Surreys. Vulgar Fractions – Why was it the 1/4th Essex Regiment? | The Observation Post
Wow, thank you so much for your efforts. I will see if I can locate the book anywhere. I don't know too much about this part of the War so I looking forward to learning a bit more about events that happened.
