Za....Za.....Za..... information is information..... as long as I don't take it for gospel, and check the facts, the History Channel can expose me to a myriad of little known facts and tidbits that I might not otherwise be aware of ..... seeds, so to speak, to spark a little research. No, I for one, quite enjoy the Histroy Channel. It's good entertainment. (....I've never had the plague..... but I'm pretty sure I WOULDN"T like that!...) -whatever -Lou
I think that there's a lot of revisionism and "new" stuff being passed off as history on that channel. I often enjoy watching some of the old b/w footage, but will mute the sound as to not have to listen to all the incorrect/inconclusive technical information. The Military Chennel is infamous for this as well.
Yes, Lou, are one of this: Za and me born both in the Iberian Peninsule..... In more matters I am very identified with Scully of The X Files......
Jan, there is in English a common phrase that goes like "Avoid like the plague". It was a word play meaning something like "better the plague than History Channel" You're right Will, but what's annoying when they show footage is the totally careless mix from different places, times and events all mixed up. For instance I once saw a feature on the Kursk battle which included troops advancing in snow. Kursk was in July Sometimes they do interview the right kind of people. I've seen John Fletcher, David Glantz, John Ericksson, etc, but their short appearances are smothered under floods of hogwash! And remember I live in Portugal, you can't imagine what kind of murder translators can do!!!! "The B-17, Minesweeper of the Skies"! I swear I heard this one!
