    This got me looking around on the YouTube site, and I found a link to the Vaughn Meader recording of First Family. I actually owned this album back in the early sixties. After the assassination however, it was less than entertaining and seemed almost insulting. Vaughn Meader also felt bad about his humorous presentation of the First Family.

    Yep, but they made him give back the sword anyway. I'm not sure the White House was a fair swap.

    Dang. Had "Sink the Bismark" pop up on my mp3 player while mowing the lawn a week or two ago. Good times!

    How could we ever forget the Era of Classic music like this! Heck, Paul Revere & The Raiders are going to be at a Casino (Indian of course) a little over an hours drive from me in July! Appropriate enough since one of their big hits was "Indian Reservation".
    link to the song;

    Google

    I know this has knowing to do with the Bismarck but hey, the original Paul Revere is US History and the band has to be nearly as old by now. :) Heard them Live in 74' !

    My oldest son was four in 1974, we old farts aren't really "over the hill", but we can sure see the crest from here. When I was three the Korean war wasn't on "hold" yet, and Truman was President.

    We were always a singing family, mind you I am not saying we were good, we just enjoyed it, and we would sing some of these Johnny Horton songs. Good memories.

    We were too Clementine! Only we all sang to a different drummer and never at the same time. Or Together. Usually ended up something like this; Two Uncles just after Festive Holiday Dinner:
    Political discussion turns to Argument turns to not speaking to each other for a month once one Brother apologizes and tells other Brother he is obviously correct (and smarter) since he had 5 years of High school versus only four for the rest of them.

    Oh and I'm considering adopting ColHessler and making him mow my yard.

    My oldest was born in 1970. That makes him older than Hessler. :eek: I agree with Clint. I can see the crest, but it's way in the distance. Truman was president when I was born, too.

    Is that an option? I need someone to mow my yard. But he's not that much younger than me that I want to adopt him and have him calling me mom.....Maybe you could loan him out?

    My lawn needs to be done, too. Either way sounds OK to me. Go to it. I'll keep checking.
