Hard to believe someone could say so many stupid things with so few words.

I didn't see anything particularly stupid there. Some might be indicative of ignorance but that's a different matter.

No I'll stand by my words, when he states " I had no clue what was going on " then he follows that statement up with a comparison to another sport, well that is just stupid. I'll agree with you that ignorance comes into play also.

I think Queen Victoria said it best.

    Morning Darren,

Having played both games and having lived in countries where these games are played I have an appreciation for both sports. The requirement for the heavier padding and protective gear in American type football (NFL) and Canadian type football (CFL) has been brought about by the use of helmets. The padding worn by rugby players protects against raking.

I believe that North American football could be greatly improved by adopting the rugby rule of where the ball is grounded on the field is where the play resumes from. The North American way is to return the ball to centre field (between the hash marks) which reduces the options and challenges.

Hopefully today's Super Bowl is a great game, they certainly have 2 teams with long and proud historys. Green Bay for me there.

Then later this year we have the Hong Kong 7's. Fiji for me there.

Regarding the 6 nations, England shall prevail.

Everytime I see this thread header I think this is about native American Indians and then click on it and realize I goofed again!

A thread about the Iroquois confederacy would be a good one for sure.

No worries Darren, it's reference to Eastern Indian tribes in North America. Something unless you had been exposed to the term would not make much sense. Here is a quick link.

Iroquois Confederacy - History, Relations with non-native americans, Key issues, Acculturation and assimilation, Traditional culture

I think that it would make a good thread as the history of the Iroquois and Huron (enemy of the Iroquois) is very interesting with alliances being made with the ruling colonial powers (England and France), then of course the fledging government of the 13 colonies. For some reason the Iroquois became very well known as Iron Workers famed for their ability to work high on the steel. Today the political direction of the Iroquois has pissed off many folks on both sides of the border.

I am no expert but I feel if such a thread was to exist the many knowledgable folks who contribute to this forum could provide a wealth of interesting information.

    Regards
    KTK

Scotland played well, and Ireland deserved to win, even if they did nearly throw it away ten minutes from the end.

Italy was thrashed today, England 59 - Italy 13, But I did think Italy played well, especially when they used the driving wall method and scored, But 3 minutes later England got another try.

    8 tries to 1 Brilliant :clap::clap::clap::clap:

Nah, they bloody didn't. Like the previous evening when the Welsh u-25s thrashed our lot at Bridgehaugh, Stirling.
Still, no Ing-lish involved, so wasn't too bothered who won.;)
