I just keep wondering about some people's mentality.
"Dutch prosecutors have blocked the sale of a bar of soap which its owners claimed was made from the fat of Jewish people murdered at a Nazi death camp.
The owner attempted to sell the soap on the internet auction site eBay for €199 (£143). But as soon as the item went live, moderators removed it from sale.
Rumours - apparently started by the British - that the Nazis were mass-producing soap using the bodies of concentration camp victims first surfaced in the middle of the war.
Although the mass production claim was almost certainly untrue, there is evidence that it had happened on a small scale at least during the early stages of World War II.
The Nazis are known to have plundered human bodies for products, with hair used to make felt and insulation for example.
However, the German scientists who were believed to have experimented with making soap from human fat had almost certainly been stopped by SS-chief Heinrich Himmler who had ordered an investigation into the claims on November 20, 1942.
The unnamed antiquities vendor who tried to sell the soap handed himself into police to answer questions after the auction was cancelled.
He had also handed over the two bars of soap, which are now being examined to see if they do indeed contain traces of human remains.
Historian Arthur Haraf said the soap was one of a number of items found near the Dutch concentration camp Westerbork, from which Dutch Jews were sent to extermination camps."

I agree Gordon. There are too many vile humans to count these days. At least he turned himself in.

It is really quite bewildering. Why would the Nazis who hated the Jews want to wash themselves with soap made from Jewish fat?

To answer that question I think we would need a new thread.

False claims, war propaganda was widely encouraged, no matter how far-fetched the rumours are.
I have a relative who fought in WW2, he said the Nazis made leather out of human skin, and that tattooed skim fetched more money. This rumour was proven to be false, as will the 'jewish soap'. Overall, the holocaust was a terrible time, but the shadow of war propaganda still lingers, a false truth, an overcast of what really happened.

Many of those rumors were true. Like the rumors of mass killings following the eastern advance.

Although there wll always be deniers of the truths of what happened I have read accounts describing the leather or hide wrapped around to make lampshades and have encountered that account in many primary sources. I am never surprised by the "lows" hate drives mankind to reach. Now that denying things has become so popular amongst so many haters......it is easy to find the sources providing information that it didn't happen which are often false and part of "revisionist propaganda".

IIRC, the making of artifacts from human skin has been long proven true, although how widespread the practice was remains in doubt.

The soap from human fat was proven true in one instance dating from 1944, and was of an experimental nature. The rest of the "soap" stories, so far, have been proven to be false. Can't say that I have ever hear of any originating from a Dutch concentration camp.

"Evidence does exist that German researchers had developed a process for the semi-industrial production of soap from human bodies.[4][5] The production of soap from human bodies by Nazis on small scale was confirmed in 2006."

"In 2006 a sample of the soap archived at theInternational Court of Justice in The Hague was given for analysis to Andrzej Stołyhwo, an expert in the chemistry of fats from theGdansk University of Technology in Poland. He concluded that some of the fat in the sample tested was of human origin. The sample of soap had previously been used as evidence in the post-World War II Nuremberg trials, but at the time the technology was unavailable to determine whether the soap had been produced from human fat. The human remains used to make the soap were believed to have been brought from Kaliningrad, Bydgoszcz and Stutthof concentration camp."

Complete untrue, it was said the print on the soap was "RJF" which would mean "Reines Juden Fett" as the proganda said..... However the print was "RIF" which means ""Reichsstelle industrielle Fette und Waschmittel" The soap contained no fat at all it was a wartime substitue for real soap and quite the worst soap one could get (cause Germans even needed to save raw materials for making soap). I and J are often simmilar printed in German and differ by the length of the letter.

Perhaps you should qualify your "completely untrue" statement, as it pertains only to soap made from human fat at Auschwitz.

However, it has no bearing on the soap made from human fat at the Danzig Anatomical Institute, which is the one that has been proven true.

I don´t know about that incident, maybe it is true... it is however no proof of the claims made regarding the RIF soap to which I was refering..this proven:

"It's a general conception that the Nazis manufactured soap," says Michael Berenbaum, who was project manager for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum [USHMM] before it opened in 1993 and headed the museum’s research institute until 1997. "But those of us working in this area have not used it as an example [of Nazi atrocity] in the last 10 to 15 years. We don't have any evidence that the Nazis actually manufactured soap with human bodies."

    http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/soap.html

(This is a jewish site you might notice)

Guess you have more knowledge than the victims and their researchers themselves, right?

I will also add that many people died of illness and age in the camps, I very much doubt that the Nazis would kill anyone for the purpose of soap making. This seems ridiculous. Maybe they really made experiments with persons that died of named causes, but don´t know about that.

This issue is correct (particular case) I meant the general RIF soap story -reply to KJ.

This guy in your link wanted to foul people and make some quick bucks which seems very untasteful.

Sorry I did not mean you OP.

Bingo Luftwaffe Boy! Got it in one. Read on...as the jewishvirtuallibrary is a few years out-of-date.

Yes, and it has served me well over the years. And, now it shall serve me again.

    Please see http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/soap01.html
As you can see there was evidence that experiments with soap-making were going on at the Danzig Anatomical Institute. However, the site concludes
Now...I will head you over to Nizkor.org This is also a Jewish website, run by B'nai Brith Canada
    You can begin here http://www.nizkor.org/features/techniques-of-denial/soap-01.html
Most of this information has been shared with jewishvirtuallibrary.org, but the JVL does not have the updated nizkor article, and instead is using the old one.

Nizkor.org has added this to the closing of the section disputing Weber's claims.

    http://www.nizkor.org/features/techniques-of-denial/soap-02.html

More on the Danzig Soap can be found here:
    http://www.nizkor.org/ftp.cgi/camps/stutthof

We have evidence...3 witness statements, and physical evidence. However, the physical evidence could not be fully tested until new technologies were worked out decades later. And, as of 2006, has been scientifically proven true.

Until you made your blanket statement of "Completely untrue...", no one had mentioned RIF/RJF Soap. Which is why I asked you to clarify your statement. BTW, The soap made at Danzig was unmarked and unremarkable in anyway.

Well the OPs post is about the RIF soap and this is also the one which I referered to. Maybe you might read the OPs link before replying. There is a pic of the soap actually (= "RIF soap"). I never brought up other soaps only refering to OPs case.

Can I interject here for a moment after reading through the thread. The issue many are having with your statement is when you said "completely untrue" and gave a source that was not totally accurate. Unfortunately, that opened up a small can of worms.
