Strange weapons wanted!

From what I recall reading one of the problems was that they trained the pigeons to target specific ships or at least classes. As the weapons were being readied the USN was sinking Japanese ships at a rate such that the pigeons required pretty much constant retraining.

 

Pigeon guided missiles???

You forgot to factor in the time difference, it wasn't April 1st yet for us Europeans when you posted that!

 

If the government hadn't kept information from the public those ballons would have driven morale way down

 

I find the Japenese submarine/ aircraft carrier an interesting idea
