Hello everyone. This is my first post on these forums (hopefully not my last). I have an exam coming up (one of the last before I get my diploma). Subject is history, timeline from about 1900 up untill the end od WW2. This is where you (hopefully) come in. My professor likes to focus on North African theater of operations. What I was hoping you guys could do is put down name any documentaries covering the subject (entirely or partially) that you can think of so I can try and get my hands on some fo them. Thanks in advance
Read An Army at Dawn, by Rick Atkinson. It focuses mainly on the US Army. If you are looking for further information about the Early Desert war, maybe some of the Limeys here can help you.
You tube is an excellent sorce of documentaries ... I'm not sure what exactly what your looking for.. Are you seeking info on the battle for north Africa? If so, i found a descriptive program on the batttles in North Africa... Battlefield North Africa - part 1 of 12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1KoA1kWr9w (i'm not going to put all 12 of them on.. it can easily be found on You tube) Here is another great documentary on the war in africa 1942-1943 rare ww2 videos in color http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn3BHMjhx9U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icU_i8SszR4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=furdtrw9W88 I hope this does help a little... Again, I am not sure what your generally looking for..but these provide a general description on the war in Africa.. hope this helps , and good luck on your exam
Hey Slipdigit, hey sunny971. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm sure they will be useful. Perhaps I should have written this in my original post, but I can easily do it here. What I am hoping to get from this is some kind of an edge. I've done all of the required reading (including Total war by Calvocoressi/Wint, one of my professor's books and a syllabus of both semesters). So have most other students. She's a bit of a short tempered person when it comes to exams, and I was hoping if she hears from me something she doesn't from everyone else, it might make my life a little bit more easy. Think of it as an intellectual bribe I've read a bit trough the forum and found all sorts of interesting info already. Great place, this! cheers
