Tall soldiers better for WW2 and modern rifle infantry?

    Hmmm, never thought of myself in that light. But that could explain the "Son-of A-_ itch!" comments I'd get after "Super-gluing" some big lugs books to the floor or using "Prussian Bluing" from architectural drawing class to "mark my target". The man I admire most was 5'8", a fighter pilot, 2 DSC's, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and numerous others and he was 145 pounds "soaking wet" in his prime.
    I agree with what has been pointed out; It all depends on how a Soldier is utilized more than an overall "One Size Fits All".

    ps: I've only been mean once or twice.

    This is the first I have heard of height requirements, but it does make sense. The S.S were supposedly elite troops and it stands to reason that they would have tall men in it to fit the image of strong, Aryan-like soldiers.
