    Pretty much. In the vacuum of space his suit swelled out just enough that he couldn't get back through the hatch :eek: . He had to open a suit valve enough to get the suit to shrink then try to stuff himself through the hatch before the suits systems resulted it to normal pressure. This took a few attempts.

    here is my question:

    what does uss wasp (cv-18), uss wisconsin and dkm prinze eugen have in common?
    ( i know this should be in the warship quiz but i have no luck in answering the question there, sorry)

    Not nuts, I just saw the Prinz Eugen on there, a vague memory that it got a dose of instant sunshine and I guessed that the same fate may have befallen the others...

    FYI, the wasp was decommisioned in 72 and scraped in 73 :cry: :cry:
    the wisconsin was descommisioned in 91 and moved to norfolk in 2000 to the national maritime museum
    and the bismarck's little brother you know what was her fate :cry:

    I seem to recall a CV Wasp from WW2, on further reflection I also recall her being torpedoed during WW2... :oops: , as for Wisconsin I don't recall her, but then I'm not a ship-buff...

    True, Wasp (CV7) was torpedoed 1942. But like all other US carriers sunk 1942, their names were reused on Essexes (SP?).

    the uss wasp collided with the uss hobson , sadly the hobbson sank in second with all hands on board :(
    uss wisconsin collided with the destroyer uss eaton but this time no lives were lost
    prinz eugen collided with the leipzing
