    I don't know that the attitude is one of apathy. It's hard to focus your anger and attention on the amorphous mass that is the modern enemy. We're not sure who our allies on the ground are; the Pakistanis?, the Iraqi army?, the Afghan militia? The American public has been unable to process the direction we should take. The military is doing what it can, given restrictions put in place by the very people we are supposed to be helping. Unfortunately, I think we wasted the righteous anger of the American public after 9/11 by sidestepping Afghanistan and turning into Iraq. Had we turned Afghanistan into a parking lot, I think the American public would have ben OK with it.

    i have no salutes lou . keep getting rejected withreps so take my aknowledgement of a great post . i have a top ten. this joins one of totenkhops as only two there so far.. apart from my own of course which are always outstanding.

    Thanks, Urqh. The salutes are nice, but this comment is really over the top. Believe me, it is much appreciated.

    I can understand why your posts are always in the top ten, even if I can't understand them half the time.:confused:

    erich its the beauty of this forum. im even now called to remember you guys when turning on the radio and uncannilly getting billy joel singing goodbye saigon.. i can only imagine what it was like for a front line unt out there. my kudos goes out to all cold war time warriors. wether on the wall or pushing againnst it.

    if you guys only knew...........whether in Nam, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq or Afghan and beyond.

    will not speak for our gracious WW 2 vets but think all would just like a word of "thanks"

    nuff said don't make anyone a hero ladies/gents as that is not what they want alive or dead. they/we served we did our duty, some of us are not done, maybe never will be it seems

    my time and place my .battle andmy injury remains wuith me for llife as gyours will erich my point is a sojdier is a sooldier no mTTER WHERE HE SAW his acttion sorry the capps locks stuck.
