a performance worthy of reaching the finals, hope argentina win tonight, and we get a great germany v argentina match ulrich...hope you go all the way..
whoa guys the game isn't over England can score 4 goals in 3 minutes.............ah maybe guess not, FT go Deutschland all the way !!!!!
Thank you Sniper and Erich! Yes i hope that our boys will make their way to he final game and Germany vs Argentine would be great to see! Regards Ulrich
So not quite the Germany 2 - 0 England I predicted, but certainly the asswhooping I predicted >.< Argentina vs Mexico could be interesting. Argentina on top though.
4-1 but the 38' "no goal" could have changed everything. Or not? Uhmm Is possible a Spain-Germany semifinal? Even Portugal - Germany. Ah If "La Armada" had made his work now CR7 would play for Spain.
I'm disapointed by the US's loss yesterday but not suprised. Ghana has alot of speed and it was only a matterof time before the US would move too far forward and leaving a hole in the defense. It was going to happen, if not against Ghana than Uruguay. On the bright side my espn pick 'em rank is just outside the top 1000. if I can end in the top 1/2% I will be quite happy. Only .2 percent to go
Bradley made huge coaching errors in whom he started for the US - the first of which lead to the opening goal and subsequent tactical substitution at the 30-minute mark. Let us just say that his days as the US Coach are over. As are Capellos for England. I still stand by my views on how horrible a selection it was to start off with. Did Lennon or WP start? Didn't think so...and German speed picked them apart. I must say that the Officiating seems to have gone down the pisser despite it supposed to have been getting better (based on performance). Two instances today - the Lampard 'goal that was not' (which was clearly a goal, and which 40,000 people saw to be a goal except for the 1 person that matters, the ref) - and the Tevez 'goal that was 10 miles offside'. In the grand scheme of things I am not sure if either matter would have made much of a difference (England got picked apart in the 2nd half, and Mexico never really threatened until that stunning goal) but it still leaves room for doubt. Tomorrow, one would think the Netherlands should have an easy time with Slovakia, while the Brazil vs Chile game could be a high scoring affair.
Awful judge errors in both games yesterday. However I don´t think it changed the end result though. The German team was really fast and for instance John Terry was often in a totally wrong place which has been a rare incident usually. And Gareth Barry?! How slow can you be? Podolski-Özil-Müller make a fantastic trio below Klose. Wonder if the speed is good enough for the Argentinian talent. The Tevez goal was offside some two meters. How could it not be noted? Also in this match the Argentinians showed class with two great goals, especially the second Tevez goals was superb! During the second half Argentina slowed down the pace and Mexico got back in the game but could not score more than one goal. ------------- From Teamtalk-site: The Three Lions had hoped 44 years of hurt would end in South Africa. It did. German hurt.
take the lampard goal? take a look at where the linesman stopped tracking back? and then draw a line between him and the nearside upright! and were the ball was in relation to this, and if he missed the over the line call? was it because the upright masked the balls positon to call it????? I.E. he could'nt see the ball had crossed over the line, had he kept running to the corner flag, he'd probably have given it....as it was obvious to see...
Germany and Argentina are the winners of the day. both will soon meet now and Argentina seems pretty good in my opinion.
It's a shame that Lampard's goal was disallowed. However, I somehow understand why the linesman didn't see it. Linesman's position should always be at the same line as defences second last player. He should also run to the end and make sure that ball crosses end line if the ball is shot. Lampard's shot came from distance with power and there were no chance for the linesman to get to the end line to see the ball crossing the goal line as it bounced out very quickly. Think about the task that the linesman has. He should basically be as quick as the best players on the pitch. On fast attacks he should run like hell to see all situations right. But as said, this doesn't take away the fact that it is a disgrace that Lampard's goal was disallowed. As a huge fan of English football, I was more than disappointed as they lost the game. England didnt reach their full potential in any phase of the tournament. It made me very angry to see usually very confident players like Terry and Barry playing so bad. Think about Barry yesterday, he was copletely out of shape. Germany is going strong again like Argentina. It is going to be great match between the two. I believe in Spain also and tonights match against Portugal gonna be a killer.
also! did he actually see the first bounce when ball went over the line? or the second bounce? when it clearly hit the line? another possibilty!
I recall a couple of years back when Manchester United GK ( not van der Saar, Ben Foster? ) threw a ball back to the pitch from inside the goal (some one meter inside), and the referees did not call it a goal. Again it was easy to say it was a goal from the camera angle.
