I forgot to mention, I dont have any Red Eagles. I was going to get one once, but before I paid, I always found something else I was interested in and couldnt afford to buy both. Same thing goes for the Franz-Josef cross, I love that thing as I think its one of the if not the best looking Imperial award out there. I once had a Franz-Josef cross, but on a ribbon bar. I Stupidly got rid of that 8 place bar about 12 years ago.

I realize we all have our own taste's, though (from my perspective at least) there's very few items that if I had a good Red Eagle waiting for me that I'd pass it up to get the other for. Recently there was a beautiful Red Eagle Breast Star with Swords that was up for auction, but ended up going for close to $3500. Aside from that one, in the past 6 months or so have only seen 1 good one where the eagle is well done and its center is undamaged. There's a number out there right now but are a bit high priced for the quality.

If you need help with the ribbon bars I should be able to quickly id what you've got on them, I've got a great reference guide for the ribbons. What starts to get tricky is determing which class is on there; which is determined by the device on the ribbon. Most are pretty simple, though a few can have several variations making it tough to definitely determine without having the medal in the other hand.

If you stll need help uploading photo's I can show you an easy way to do it, and its free with unlimited bandwith.

Theose Red Eagles are currently out of my leagud but, I wouldny mind getting a nice Franz Josef Cross, I love those things. Your right on some of the ribbons, too hard to tell unless with the devices and such. I should have a few with the Bavarian Military Merit Cross/Order? on it.

Im going to try to find a place with working scanners that I can get these scanned at sometime this week. Usually WalMart has scanners, but the one nearest where I live-about 4 miles away--theirs have been not working for about a month-which means ill have to go across town to a WM where i know theirs work. Ill try to get there by Friday? and then will ask Skipper to post them for me after I mail the CD to him. My posting skills are in the Pre-Cro-Magnon stage of evolution ;-))

Carl Evans is no longer posting with us, so that question will probably be unanswered. He stopped posting early this year, May I think I recall.
