    Respect.

A smiley would have helped that in my post I guess, but I'm still not going to use 'em.

I google a few variations of the word dink, but I'm not sure I'm getting the same meaning you intended in your post. WTF does fair dinkum mean?

Why this stupid post? If you don't have nothing helpful to post, don't post at all.

I was just wondering if scients of the time were aware of the color of the atmosphere from outside the planet, hence I ask about why the picture was not in color. Then an indivudal comes with a cheap joke thinking he is smart and I'm stupid.

The whole thing is silly because it wasn't a man, it was a rhesus monkey and it only took that one clear picture before it threw poop on the window.

So, the monkey's photographs were in "brown and white" then?

    Jenisch,

I think it's clear by the discussion between O.M.A. & CAC that the post that irked you was made in jest. KodiakBeer & Takao have now also made jokes about the rocket with either humans or monkeys riding into space and taking photos and throwing feces. It's a fair assessment that all three people made their posts only for the purpose of humor and not to insult you. My personal opinion is that these types of goings on tend to happen an awful lot on the internet, and you're going to very angry, very often if you decide to take these subdued comments personally. The WW2 Forums is a very tame place compared to many other sites, so let's not assume others are here to insult one another.

After all Jenisch, it's only the internet.

Also...the atmosphere doesnt really have a colour...we see it as blue from this side due to refraction...we dont see it at all from space...we see the blue of the ocean and the brown of the land...and some white water vapour...(You can see the atmospheres with a light behind them).

Hej Takao... Why is your avatar in monochrome? Didn't sailors back then know the ocean was blue?

Everyone knows Australia was monochrome until the introduction of decimal currency, and the invention of the 12-sided 50-cent coin...

(Hay, why is that in monochrome....)

Jenisch...Oma's already explained he was being sarcastic...If the rules of forum state no sarcasm..I could never post again...And the yanks amongst us would never get an education...

Sarcasm...supposed to be the lowest form of wit...In reality only those that don't get the sarcasm would say that.

Cac graciously worked it out...which for him is unusual as he is a master of the art...Suppose even Botany bay tourists have a bad day...

So does this mean that if Gen. Chuck Yeager, USAF retired & test pilot extraordinaire, ever got up to 50 miles or higher above the earth, he is classified as an astronaut?
