MrKline's link has expired. It's pushing up the daisies. Here to help, cause it is a great tune/album. Have it on wax, proudly hangs on my wall....Not 'Handle With Care', but ' End Of The Line ': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwqhdRs4jyA

Recall when Rafferty released album...My folks listened to country-ish [another thread] but my buddy's divorced mom had this in her collection. She was super cool. And hot. Married a rich old Polish fellow, and drove a hot rod...Doh. Urqh's Gerry Rafferty song just stopped. And so did my creativity...Need to be inspired agin'...Searching for more music fuel in order to continue...

"End of the Line", one of my favorite videos.

I found the tribute to Lefty Wilbury(Roy Orbison) rather fitting - the empty rocking chair with his guitar on and a flash of his picture as the train moves through a dark tunnel - when Lefty's part of the vocals plays.

I got this cassette when it first came out in 1988 and played it so much in my car's tape deck that I wore off the writing on the cassette.

Ummm..I remember when I was young. Replace cassette with 8 track. And then replace that with a hand cranked mono tube player, and then replace that with the Pipes, and even previously, loud humming. ... My Favorites on 8 track were the Kinks. On all -count them-8 tracks....Meaning, there were only , 8 tracks....Awesome for 1950's Beatles wall of sound....But lousy in an Oldsmobile Omega four barrel hatchback....But I made it work....Lucky to have survived.

Mr.VP, peace to you man. Seen your plentiful, and big, bits over the years. Thanks for those, eh.... Harry Nilsson made an album which turned out to be his swan album. Thinking the coconut song was his interpretation of his Dr's unsuccessful advice on prescribed meds and his view of quacks...Maybe Nick Lowe decided that haunting vid was his swan song?...I love the Nick Lowe.

Well I wasn't born when the sailor picked up me mum...Apparantly he joined in while she was playing piano in New Brighton bar...he played a make believe Jews harp...a trick he did...Ahhh....see what you mean...keyboard...I would be 11...Neighbours complained about the noise...school put me on stage...Then I advanced to the clarinet....Go Tell Aunt Rosie was my forte....Gave that up too...I can't even whistle now...But you'll never see me without a pair of headphones...

Lowe was married to Cash's daughter and wrote it for Johnny.
Much as I love Cash's American series (Rick Rubin is a godlike figure for triggering that little project), I still think Lowe's own version is better.
