This is a great oldie and a goodie in my book. When I was in basic training back in the 70s, we'd sing this song in cadence while marching to and from the training areas. The drill sergeant would call out a line, then the whole company would follow suite. It made marching in the rain a little more bearable. Not much though, but just a little bit.
