    What is the reason some are missing?

    That's a nice find. As a kid, I read through the following FM's out sheer curiosity:

    1. physical training
    2. explosives and demolitions
    3. mountain training
    4. jungle operations
    5. combatives
    6. browning BAR manual
    7. M3 submachine gun manual
    8. preventive maintenance

    Obviously, a lot of them were prepared post-war. The PM manual included simple instructions to service and care for Honest John nuclear-tipped missiles, and even Nike anti-aircraft missile launchers.
