urqh, my pleasure! It was only a temporary punishment of course :D

And now France was eliminated by Greece, I expected more from Zidane, but good for Greece!

Great goal by Greece and definitely held the game in good control. The French were quite a disappointing team last night and you could ask where was ZZ, where was Henry?
    More surprises tonight?

I guess it all depends on what you consider a surprise, Kai! I wouldn't be too surprised if the Swedes beat the Dutch. As I said; I don't dare to hope anymore...I think the way they played the last two games, we may be hopeful, but still, with the Dutch team you never know..

We finally got rid of a national trauma...Always loosing at the penalty kick stage...

Yes, after all the big countries fell away, I think we should get to the finals. When we do, we probably meet the Czech Republic there.

That is going to be interesting. A repeat from 1988? When Russia beat us in the first round and we beat them in the final?

Last night the Czechs showed some great goals, and as after the first half I thought the Danes had a chance- then it was all over for the Danes in a just a few moments. Amazing!

I must say that these games have been the most enjoyable in a long time with truly beautiful goals and also has included very bizarre results every now and then!

    ;)

PS. Anybody been praying in front of the tv lately?

    2-1 Portugal beats Holland :D

And the "1" was an own goal, so we got in the whole 3 :D :D :D

Holy mackerel, it must have been the same referee as the England game, I can see no other reason [IMG]

    Yes,

I do agree that Portugal deserved to win though the Dutch team had a good going on, except for bad marking at times...OH NO! And Van Der Sar made some excellent saves.IF he performed like that in the Premier league...

And the Portuguese defence was quite remarkable.

Good luck to the final, Portugal!

    ;)

I think van der Sar was the best Dutch player on the field. Robben was completely played out of the game by Miguel and the rest had a collective day-off. Tactically the Dutch were very poor. the same problem throughout the tournament; position play.

At least we got further that Germany, which is hardly a comfort.

Anyway; On to Germany 2006 with a new, young an dimproved team.

And although I do wish Portugal all the luck in the finals, I put my money on the Czechs...

    BTW,Stevin,

got any thoughts on Kluivert? He´s always been the man to score alot in these games. Should he have played earlier or when the going got tougher. I know he was not doing well at all in the Spanish league ( didn´t he say he was going to offer the team a meal if he didn´t score twenty goals this season?).

We heard Jari Litmanen comment the game and he was sad that Kluivert did not get to play.

Kluivert remains a good striker but I am not surprised he didn't get to play. His season with Barca was very poor and he just didn't show form. He is a player that can put the goals away but with van Nistelrooy, Makaay and van Hooydonk, all playing often and very good at their clubs, there really wasn't a chance for Kluivert to play.

I wonder if he will retire, like De Boer, Stam and a few other or maybe he will try for 2006, when he will face competition with the same strikers again...

Thanks very much, now all we need is for Greece to come up to the final as well so we can settle accounts with that first game we played :D

    Well, it's official…

    Greece vs. Portugal!

I think Portugal will win. The Greeks don't have anything to lose, 2004 is their year… [IMG]

But I'll go for the Greeks just to bother Miguel! [IMG]

No problemo. Yesterday I was doing the rounds in the office collecting money for a Dutch flag! Of course I only said what the money was for after I had it in my pocket :D
