Ecky thump, not from this ex RMP he wouldnt. Nor remembering the way he has treated the families of the 6 killed from our ranks a few years ago could I imagine the corps giving Blair 3 cheers.

Come on Urqh, I'm fairly sure you (and the rest of the army) could find something to give him...

I know why maggie got a cheer and as you rightly say blair would not get a cheer for his treatment of those RMP'S families.I would dread for this country to go to another war under gordon brown i just dont think he is sincere.

Yes the good old days! Here's my shield with a red cross on it, the one with the red lion is in the shop, it's especially good for deflecting sticks, stones, bones and arrows;):D

Now I'll have to get my bagpipe and drums out to wake up my neighbors:D

Labour Party, what a misnomer! A little actual Labor would be good for England.

So was I mate, so was I ;)

A little actual education would be good for certain people in America. Might be interesting if you knew the history of the Labour party, originally the representatives of arguably the hardest working people of their day (don't see anyone in the UK today working a 9 hour shift then going to school to learn to read).

How many bloody times do we have to point out that England is one of 3 countries that make up the UK, plus (sort of) Wales.

As for the last line, would be pretty easy to take offense at that mucker, particularly from the side of the pond that invented chronic obesity. But don't worry, I'm sure we'll all give you the benefit of the doubt.

(Raises his shield before saying) "Even if controversial, I do miss Maggie." This Lady was fun to watch - especially when she was with our Pres. Heh heh, I wonder what it would have been like, had those two been married to each other instead of who they ended up with? ;-D

Of course your comment is offensive to the people of Wales......

Noooooo, really......what's your point in stating the obvious. Any reference to my postings must take into consideration the authors political bias. A cute diversion from the fact that the redistribution of wealth doesn't work.

Now you are offending overweight people and assuming a great deal, but once again typical of the Left in not addressing the issue that Labor politics depleats a nations wealth and causes business to run screaming over seas.

Yes, better than my Platoon version of 'pistols at dawn'

Well it was supposed to be about the election of the new mayor, but for some reason it turned into anything except that :)

And now the Crewe/Nantwich by-election has given the Conservative Party their first by-election win in decades. A 7,000 majority for New Labour at the last election has turned into a 7,000+ deficit.

Members outside the UK may wonder what the fuss is about, but there is absolutely no doubt that the New Labour 'project' is now well-and-truly on the rocks - big time.

With Blair being seen in retrospect more and more as a slick salesman, and Premier Gordon Brown ( in the most delicious of ironies ) being impaled by the legacy of his own policies as Chancellor, the UK political scene is shifting fast into that old Chinese curse - 'interesting times'.

    ;)

Interesting as you say Martin. When Tony Blair crosses the Channel on a private visit, he is still welcomed as some kind of royalty. It seems he's more popular abroad and possibly more than Gordon Brown. In fact some people still believe Tony Blair is in charge.

This sentence from you reminded me of my late uncle, who was from Scotland. He married my father's sister. When we were kids, he emphasized that on us and he loved to wear a t-shirt that announced "Hindi ako Amerikano" (I am not an American) and the words "I am from Scotland" on the back of the t-shirt.

The most amusing thing about this result is the number of Labour "useful idiots" whinging 'remember Thatcher!' this morning. Some us remember the Labour nightmare of the '70s; rampant inflation, power cuts, unchecked union aggression, unburied bodies and uncollected rubbish due to public sector strikes, and the country only avoiding bankruptcy through an emergency loan from the IMF.
And having worked in local government for two decades myself and seen exactly how Labour operate away from the public gaze, I would never be stupid enough to vote for them in the first place.
And I formed that opinion without reading the Daily Mail editorial first.....;)

Wow it seems that Blair and Brown are about the two last Labour party members left in the country!
