    Lou,

If you looked closely at that ominous red Chrome virus warning screen, you would have noticed an override that required you to check a box and push a button that said, "let me go there, anyway", or words to that effect. I declined doing that at first, but finally went ahead and overrode the virus warning. That's when I got on and was able to post with Chrome.

One thing that came out of this is learning that Chrome, as a browser, is really lame.

I was getting the warning using Safari, so it was a pretty generic warning I think.

BTW, does anyone find it curious, that these virus warnings came at the same time a certain argumentative member with an agenda, was booted?

It had nothing to do with him. He was booted on his own, visible merits.

Yeah, virus warnings. I'll take the blame for that, I had mistakenly left a file on the website that some sneaky bugger used to place some code on a few pages. A side effect of the script blocked any new posts. The problem has since been removed and the evil cracker has been shoved out the door.

Some other non-security performance issues were also fixed, so the site should run a bit smoother now.

I'll be mailing you all pints of beer for your patience. :hungover:

I personally wish to thank you for your performance in the "fix", and wouldn't even consider blaming you or anyone else on the forum for the 'prob. Damn it, you guys do just a great job, for nothing but the "fun" of it.

Thanks Clint, good members deserve good handling. Honestly I wish I could do a lot more, circumstances aren't always the best to do that, but I'm glad I could at least resolve this issue for you guys.

I'm waiting for my emailed pint... promises promises.
Fascinated to see where it'll come out of the machine, I've even dusted the ash out of a few possible places...

Damn technophiles, I believe I wrote mailed, not emailed. Ordering a pint down at the local pub, pouring it into an envelope and sending it off makes perfect sense, emailing one is just crazy. Wouldn't it be nice though, getting a tasty IPA in your inbox...

As long as IPA is Indian Pale Ale, and not some acronym for an STD :shifty:.

Using Firefox, as well as Chrome, I still get a virus warning, but only when I attempt to access the "Weapons in WW II" forum. All the others appear to be completely clear of any virus warnings.
