No doubt that they filmed it from a Swordfish judging by the speed. Man, that explosion is huge. Those are defenaitly the magazines that go of Here's a nice question. Give the name of the pig that damaged both HMS Valiant and HMS Queen Elizabeth
"Maiale" was the word i was looking for. That was fast. Okay, your turn Che. BTW: those are nice pics
Wait, there were schips bigger then the Empress? Thus, we aren't looking for a vessel sunk by U-boats. Does converted liners as carriers count?
Yes there was, as far as I know one ship that was sunk and it was not a converted liner, guess you thought of the SS Roma, but you´re on the right way No, sry Some help, the liner I´m looking for held the west bound Blue Riband between 1933 and 1935. Regards, Che.
The SS Rex was an Italian ocean liner that was launched in 1931. She held the west bound Blue Riband between 1933 and 1935. In 1938, in a demonstration of U.S. air power, B-17A bombers of the U.S. Army Air Corps intercepted the Rex at sea in a highly publicized event. She was sunk by British bombers in 1944. Looks like it is Med/Italian week
hmm, I thought that it wouldn´t be so easy, nevertheless it´s your turn some facts 268,20 m x 29,58 m x 40,00 m Displacement 51.061 tons Regards, Che.
Well, time to end Med/Italy week. Back to the Japs. What ship got the guns that became available after the Mogami-class cruisers got their 8inch guns?
hmm, my knowlegde of the guns on Yamato is very poor so i went looking up but i couldn't find anything. Ossian, could you give me the source of your answer? It's possible that you are correct. The Mogami's had 6.1 guns and so had the Yamato and Yamato only got her guns after the Mogami's were converted.
According to 'Fleets of World War II' from Richard Worth (Tiornu), those 6.1" guns from Mogami's ended up to Yamato's and Oyodo. And according to NavWeaps, turrets also.
Who am i to tell that NavWeaps is wrong (or Tiornu). I was unawear of the guns being used on the Yamato but it happend. So Ossian, you were correct. I was looking for the Oyodo but the Yamato is also right. Quiz is yours
According to >Anatomy of Ships< "The battleship Yamato", the Nendo Shiki were fitted to the Mogami class, not from the Mog. to the Yamatos, however these were removed during the 1939-40 refit. Regards, Che.
OK, I'm away from all my reference books, so an easy one: "Spanish Ships of War at sea, we have sighted fifty three" Said to whom, aboard which ship?
