True enough about the black pudding Stefan , The humble black pudding might have been better. It was always the cheapest supper item in most chippys unless one truely plumbed the depths for deep fried pizza : )

I remember the last time id been away and returned , scoffed a pudding supper with a single pudding..id missed the taste , salt , vinegar and broon sauce..cant be beat

Richard.....why do i get the feeling you weren't really eating fish fish and more fish ?

As a footnote , i did search out a fishmongers around here , still a fair drive to get to , he had cod..fresh cod..never frozen he said...fresh he said..gawd it was bland tasteless and total waste of time.He took a handsome price for it too , shocking how bad it was.

To get good fish you need to take a trip up to New England. Anywhere from Boston to Maine on the Coast and you will have wonderful fish. You might also visit Florida for some fresh Grouper!

Forget where it's from, it's all about how you dunk it in batter and deep fry it!

Deep frying is criminal! (Unless it is done just right and no one tells my wife that I ate it!)

There are very few Walt Disney World properties that I like to visit, but there is a restaurant called Raglan Road at Downtown Disney (here in Orlando) that does a fine job with Fish and Chips. I often make it an indulgence when my son and I go to hear a band at House of Blues (around the corner). We went many times to Raglan Road and were always appalled at the cost of our dinner ($16.95 for a plate of fish and chips is a bit much!) and then, by accident, I walked around the restaurant one day and found a take out window where the same plate was offered for $6.95. It appears that I had been paying an extra $10 per plate for "atmosphere."

I was in Fla this year DG , had a couple of weeks down there and loved every minute.Sunbathing in Febuary on South beach is to be commended.Travelled the entire eastern seaboard and had some excellent meals , breakfast in the south is a real treat
I ate out for most meals if not all , from jack in the box to fancy resteraunts all along the road.I think jack in the box was SC only but worth the mention.
One complaint , it didnt matter if i was in the waffle house or the marriot , they never have butter , never..its always a crap substitute.
Such a minor thing , but it makes a huge difference to bread or toast , pancakes or waffles , why wont they just serve butter?

In the end i bought butter and kept it in a cooler , whenever i went in to eat somewhere i took my own butter...to hell with'em

Take it easy. As the old man sang, "Time, time, time is on my side... Yes it is..." :)

Bullsh!t, what a waste! As a matter of fact I was fingering a Portuguese yesterday named "1000 Cod Recipes" and ...

You know, it depends ;) I'll admit if you have objections about the Edinburgh deep fried pizza or Mars chocolate bar

It appears that if I play all my cards right I will be opening a seafood place in the Lisbon neighbourhood after all :D :D :D

    From the Yahoo Dictionary:

"A mush of ground pork and cornmeal that is set in a mold and then sliced and fried."

It would seem that it is the opposite of health food!

Happily for me im looked on as a lucky mascot kind of thing , i went to last years game almost straight off the plane and our team won..woo hoo
Its great for the kids cos they go on to a bigger knockout tourny and after 3 more games they get a free trip to Florida..it was Florida last year , dunno about this year.

Tonight Za Rodinu is off any diet! A nice sheep cheese with enough fungal growth to hide a colony of gorillas in it, a delicious slab of smoked ham, maize/rye bread, and to wash it all down an excellent Red of 5 years - full bodied enough you have to use a spoon :)

As a dessert I'm going with some boiled chestnuts with fines herbes. Tonight I'll be sleeping with my window open, I don't want to suffocate

That pizza sounds good ! Alittle garlic butter dipping sauce and a few pineapple slices to go on top and you can invite me over anytime. You can have a slice and I will take care of the rest.

I will take a pass on the tuna burgers. :yuck:
