    Mr. Evans,

I'm sure you're right about the Checkers. But I'd give my left arm for a Whataburger here in NC. And I KNOW you have those!

    Hi there C-of-Iron, David,

C-of-Iron, I make fun of McD's because it's fun to do so. I too used to be a poor college student - which is why we went to Checkers. At that time, we could get stuffed for less than $2.50. Nowdays, your lookin' at spending near $10 for decent lunch. The first girlfriend I had worked at our local Mc'D's w/ her Mother. We used to get all-kinds of free stuff ranging from Fries to Big-Macs-which I admit-I used to love) but after eating them almost everyday all Summer long, one gets sick of eating them. The other joint we used to go to which had a great deal but their food sucked, was a Pizza Joint called: Ci Ci's. The buffet there cost us only $2.00 and an extra .50 cents if we wanted to drink Sodapop with it.

Hi David, I also admit that Checkers tasted good but, I never went back to it after finding that lost french fry under the care seat. And how I knew it was over a year old was because the last time my roommates and I ate there, I was still in college and was about to move back to my hometown. Well, after I was done w/ school, I moved back and then this car was one I placed in storage because I had bought a late 1980's model Mustang.. I had not opened the other cars dorrs in over a year and only did so to clean everything out because I had just sold the car.

Whataburger has restaurants in I think 15 States, and there is one located by the entrance to my Apt complex. Anywhere in the Apt complex, you can always smell their cooking. Samething goes for Walbangers, Bill Millers BBQ (which I loathe-but the aromas coming from the place-are rather nice. Whataburger is OK but they keep raising their prices. Last time I ate at one, was about 2 months ago and I admit it was decent but, I prefer to get a nice hamburger from Walbangers. Walbangers is a locally owned establishment and their burgers are the best you can get within 150 or so miles. Walbangers is slightly farther away than Whataburger is. I walk to it about twice a month.

Tonight it was mahi with a cocoanut curry sauch, a spinach and potato with mustard seed dish, and an Indian spiced cabbage. My wife seems to be working her way through an Indian recipe book and I am quite content!

A baggie full of fresh cherrys. With a small trash can handy so I can put the stems in, and (which is against the rules).... enjoy the simple pleasure of spitting the "pits" into the can, with feet on the desk, of course.
There will be Hell to pay if I miss, but so far, so good.:D
