I gave the tracks a solid coat of Testors rust out of the bottle.I then drybrushed them with Citadel Colour Chainmail.Last,I used Citadel Colour Black Wash to darken the metallic paint and shade the recessed areas. It's the first time I attempted this technique and I'm quite happy with the final product. Thanks for posting PP.

i have a BIG problem with my maus, now i realice that before you paint it, you should do the track first, coz you need to handle the hull a lot and that will ruin the paint,
    any suggestion?
    please?
    :(

can't you just paint the tracks and wheels first, then wait until they are dry. Then you glue everything and paint the hull.
Or isn't that what you are looking for?

If the paint on the hull is already finished and cured, try giving it a layer of clear coat. That should protect it some.

i already painted the hull and wheels, but need to glue the tracks in place, but since it has some individual tracks need to handle the hull to position them,

It seems you'll just have to be extra careful.Working with indy links presents different challenges for sure.

What I often do is to put a piece of tissue over the model before I pick it up. That saves most of the damage to the paint. Or you could try wearing gloves?

The other option is to give the hull a light coat of matt varnish and allow it to dry for a couple of days to be extra sure. That should prevent most damage to the paintwork. Wearing nitrile/rubber gloves might help, at least any marks will be less identifiable as finger prints.

Is there anything you could rig up with clamps or stands to minimise the need to actually touch the model?

Hi! This is my actual work (half way): Stug III (40 Ausf G) w/ american markings. Originally it is a Revell kit, and I made the conversion as I seen on a photo. Actually which one I lost it. If you look in the capture armor topic you'll find some details. Need any help!

Since I have to wait for my indy links in the mail to complete my TD for the group build,I decided to pull something out of the stash to work on.It's a 1/35 Wespe SPG by Alan.I really like the kits from this company.Affordable and they go together quite well. The indy links are spot on with no flash to deal with.

I put the Wespe on the backburner so I could concentrate on my TD for GBII.Those indy links were quite a challenge. The TD is done so now it's back to the Wespe.Currently I'm doing the detail painting, stowage, tracks, tools etc....
