Yeah, I don't know why, but Ryan (the one in Afghanistan) has been a huge "Longhorns" fan since he was just a little boy. His mom once speculated that it was because he was conceived in Texas. We were at Ft. Sam Houston and I was going to the Special Operations Medical Sgt's Course. My wife fell in love with San Antonio. That was the first time since Ryan was home on pre-deployment leave that I'd been in his room. I looked around and noticed all the little things and they pretty much summed up who he is. He loves hot women, rock and roll, fast cars, the Marine Corps, playing the guitar and the Texas Longhorns. P.S. I like the Long Gun!
USMCPrice....thank those boys of yours for their service...my family and I appreciate the sacrifices they make. Glad you had a great Christmas...hoping your son comes home safe and soon.
They usual daddy stuff. Several gift cards for Book stores and LL Bean. A leather jacket A turn-table to convert my old vinyl records to MP3s A couple of books, but unlike Skipper's wife, my family is afraid to buy WWII-related books for me
Congrats! A good woman is hard to find, I hope you two share many years of happiness together. I've been married to mine for 27+ years now, and she's the best thing that ever happened to me.

Thanks guys mean a lot... Pretty big step in my life! She is a special person, she has to be if shes ready to spend the rest of her life with this guy!
Enjoy this time while you can my little pachyderm because before you know it you'll be wondering where all your stuff went. During my last 16 years of marriage I think I have spent 8 of those years either looking for my pocket knife or my shoes; women can not stand see something lying idle in a position of readiness and that includes you! I have had many a Saturday morning disrupted, as I was waiting for the zombie apocalypse or some other manor of conflagration to erupt, by the phrase: "Are you just going to lay there all day." Obviously women are more concerned with a clean garage than they are a well rested protector from the dark forces of evil and chaos. You also might want to get into the habit of checking to make sure there is toilet paper before you are in the most vulnerable repose.
I got a M1 2nd Rangers helmet, a US canteen, a Vietnam complete medic kit, NCAA football 2011, and with my Christmas money I bought a US Navy PO3 uniform and some other things.
Sadly, I didnt receive anything from anyone else. Instead, I got myself several books; An Enormous Crime(the Definitive Account of American POWs Abandoned in Southeast Asia)-Bill Hendon The Pentagon Papers-George C Herring Kiss the Boys Goodbye(How the US Betrayed its Own POWs in Vietnam)-Monika & William Stevenson Hitler's Master of the Dark Arts-Bill Yenne Black Edelweiss-Johann Voss Men of Steel, the Devil's Adjutant, and Sons of the Reich-Michael Reynolds Why Im not broke because of Amazon and Barnes and Nobles Ill never know....
Sloniksp, always remember Charlton Heston's secret for a happy marriage. -The four magic words: "Honey, I was wrong".
No, I was always chasing the ones I shouldn't have been chasing and not being satisfied with the ones I caught for very long. Same old story. At least I have all my stuff though!
