Heh heh, no worries there. They told me my account would be deleted if i did'nt rent anything for i think? 7 months? Renting from them is still a ways off. I have about 50 movies-several seasons of tv shows from a few series to watch before ill rent anything new. I still have not finished watching season 1 of Zorro yet---not that its bad or anything--juse recently discovered them when unpacking a box from last years move from houston. I also just picked up on sale @ best buy (which very rarely has any good deals) the final 2 seasons of the incredible hulk. Im a fan of Bill Bixby ;-)
Thats good to hear. I WILL be buying the DvDs when they are published. Havent seen that TR doc series but I did see a recent series about the rise of the nazis with mostly new footage-and from the average citizen. Was pretty good.
Kellys Heroes is one of my top fave Eastwood movies. I remember getting to stay up late for the first time when it was first shown on a local channel about 1974???
Just finished watching the Pacific series, am currently watching episodes of Penn and Teller: Bullshit!
Lots of great viewing recently and today including: My Darling Clementine w/ Henry Fonda, Ward Bond, Victor Mature, Tim Holt and Walter Brennan. Pride of the Yankees with: Gary Cooper, Walter Brennan, Dan Duryea (in one of few rare roles in movies he got that he wasnt killed somehow) and The Sultan of Swat--THE Babe Ruth himself. Also watched: Sergeant York mit: Gary Cooper, Walter Brannan, Ward Bond, Noah Beery Jr, and some other "recognizable faces".
Watched 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians-The Lightning Thief' last night. better than I expected but still a Harry Potter wanna be. Looking forward to a good Pro Football game today, but since I live in the Texans viewing area I am likely to get hosed on that score.
Finally was able to sit down and watch "Restrepo : Outpost Afghanistan" last night. Outstanding and I highly recommend it for any who have not seen it. This is NOT the Hollywood version of War.
Netflix has it and my Nephews watched it ant they thought it was a great watch. THATS coming from people who arent interested in anything dealing with war except Willy's Jeeps. jUST SAW An early Gary Cooper/Marlene Dietrich classic: Morocco. Great early film and early in both their careers. Currently watching: Beverly Hills Cop.
Restarting to watch both seasons of the Disney TV series: Zorro. Its a fun series to watch. After that, will be season 1 of Voyage To the Bottom of the Sea, w/ Richard Basehart and David Hedison, then the final two seasons of The Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno.
I was flipping the channels and came across it too (at the scene w/radar site at Opana Point). Had to finish it out of course.
A document on the flying the planes over the Atlantic to the European battle field, and Bill Vanderkloot flying the Commando..
I watched "Second Hand Lions" last night, and "The Road" a couple of nights ago. SHL is a light-hearted comedy of a movie, about a introverted and disconnected 12-13 year old boy sent to live with his two eccentric great uncles in Texas. The storyline is from his viewpoint, and well worth the effort watching it. TR is a black, post apocalyptic struggle to survive. The storyline centers on a father and his son and their struggle to exist. It is a pretty good movie, but it is sort of disturbing. In that world, it would probably be better not to survive the initial fate that crippled the planet.
Currently watching some movie called "The Alamo" with a guy named John Wayne on the encore-western channel. Not too bad a show so far
and dag-nabbit, we cant get that station here even though we have the same cable company as my Sis does and SHE gets it.
Carl, We had to upgrade to a (naturally more expensive package) so the Wife could get the TurnerClassicMovie channel. Those older movies are well worth the little extra cost though. And a side bonus was - I now get the Military Channel plus the old Westerns ! Tonight I get to watch "For The Boys" with Bette Midler and James Cann!! It was on about a week ago but I missed the first half hour or so and tonight I'll re-watch it.
We upgraded too but, for some reason unkn to me, the Time Warner Cable TV (branch) service here in Austin just does not have it on the line-up. Were supposed to get about 300 channels-most im sure are repeats and a waste of air-space, but, I inquired and we cant even get a station id love to have called: ALN-which shows Combat, Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants, Lost In Space, and the most important of all (for me) Twelve O'Clock High. My Sis gets that station too, but we cant and we get are cable paying what she pays, but cant get the few stations I really want. BTW, ALN is the American Life Network. Watched: They Live w/ Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Raymond St. Jacques. I wonder if they have a website? and possibly? www.aln.com or www.americanlifenetwork.com ???
