Picked up 'The Rat Patrol' last summer from a wharehouse store and just finnished watching the last episode. It seemed a lot better when I was 9 years old, and it is ripe for a drinking game. A drink everytime a member of the patrol gets captured! It was nice to see that the Africa Korps always let them keep thier watches and gogles, almost as if they knew they would escape once again!

I had 1st season, watched it and thought the show would have been much much better had the episodes been an hour instead--much like Combat. I gave mine to a friend who liked it.

PS, stayed up late last night to watch two Duke classics in AMC: True Grit and The Undefeated.

Hard to make a 22 minute drama I agree, could have been better as a hour show. I am shocked that you would stay up late for a couple of the Duke's movies! :)

Just finished watching a classic: The Best Years Of Our Lives w/ Dana Andrews, Frederick March and Harald Russell. I first watched this movie when i was about 15--being highly disappointed with it because it had no fighting in it cept for a couple of bar brawls. I hated it then but love the movie now.

Yes a true classic, never a great fan of Dana Andrews, but his seen near the end in the nose of a bomber about to ne scrapped has always stuck with me as being tremndously powerfull and poinant.

Bought the Box Set of Black Adder containing all the series 1-4 and all the specials as well.

Brian Blessed as the king in The Black Adder cracked me up with laughter, great stuff.

Ive never been a big fan of his either but, thats slowly changing. He was good in movies like: Ball of Fire w: Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck, Purple Heart w: Marshall Thompson and others whose names currently escape me at this time, Battle of the Bulge and some others ive seen him in. Your right, that bomber scene is one I thought that really said it all.

Saw a Cold War classic tonight that starred: Duke, Paul Fix, Janet Leigh and Jay C. Flippen, called: Jet Pilot. That movie is easily THE best one that Howard Hughes ever produced. Great movie and its available to watch in full online I THINK with Google.

I watched Band of Brotthers yesterday. Can't get enough of it. Seen the entire series at least 4 times.

Last night, TCM almost hit a home run w/ me. They played three War Movies directed by my favorite Director--Lewis Milestone. They would have hit a homer with me had they changed the 2nd movie and had: Halls Of Montezuma in that slot instead. So, I watched the first of the trio--which was; All Quiet On the Western Front, skipped A Walk In the Sun as I think its a fairly lousy movie, then switched back to TCM in time to watch: Pork Chop Hill.

Thank you Bel, glad to be back among the gang. Same here, I saw some VERY disturbing footage shot from a News Helicopter which showed flood waters invading a vast amount of Countryside. I can only just imagine how many people in those waters died. It was sickening to say the least. I have one Japanese friend whom lives somewhere in that area, and I have yet to hear if he and his family are OK or not? I keep hoping to hear something positive soon :-(

Its a great movie one of one Lewis Milestones best. I place only Pork Chop Hill and Halls Of Montezuma above All Quiet. Milestone didnt do a bad job with Walk--but its one of those movies IMO, that just didnt cut the mustard.

Currently watching Ingrid Bergman (for the first time) in: Joan Of Arc which also has another favorite British actor of mine in it: Harry Andrews. Shame both of those fine actors are gone :mourn::mourn:

If sleep doesnt take me early tonight, I plan on staying up to watch a version of Joan OF Arc, which also starts Richard Widmark.

Hi Tex, same here. I HAD two versions of the original All Quiet, on VHS tape but stupidly gave them away years ago. One version is the one normally shown, the other had been restored and had several minutes added to it, and now I do not have the restored version. GGrrrrrr.

Saw last night: Joan Of Arc w/ Ingrid Bergman and Harry Andrews. I never saw that movie before but, I definately would enjoy seeing it again and I THINK its on DvD?

Watched one of the few relatively newer movies that I will dub a classic. I watched Demolition Man w/ Sylvester Stallone, Sandra (Resident of Austin, Tx) Bulluck, the now Federal Inmate known as Wesley Snipes, former Wrestling Champ and Ex Gov of Minnesota-Jesse Ventura, and Denis (No Cure For Cancer) Leary.
