Here in Southern California, those poor dead Goth kids wouldnt even get a second glance...we have so many different nationalities, ethnicities, people wearing turbans and burkhas, piercings, tattoos, and all sorts of odd things people do to their appearance; i guess we are used to differences here.

Goth's teen killer sentence reduced

One of two teenage boys who murdered a young woman in a park because she was dressed as a Goth has won a reduction in his sentence at the Court of Appeal.
The Lord Chief Justice, Lord Judge, and two other judges in London cut the minimum term to be served by Ryan Herbert, 16, from 16 years and three months to 15 years and six months.

But they rejected a bid by his co-accused Brendan Harris to have his 18-year minimum sentence reduced.
Harris, of Spring Terrace, Bacup, Lancashire, was convicted of gap-year student Sophie Lancaster's murder after a trial in April.
He was sentenced to life, with the 18-year minimum - the least he must serve before he can apply for parole.
Herbert, of Rossendale Crescent, Bacup, who admitted murder, was also sentenced to life, with a minimum of 16 years and three months.
Miss Lancaster, 20, was killed by repeated stamps and kicks to her head as she lay defenceless trying to protect her injured boyfriend Robert Maltby, 21, in Stubbylee Park, Bacup in August 2007.
Three other youths involved with Herbert and Harris in the savage attack on Mr Maltby had sentence appeals rejected by the judges.
Harris, Herbert, brothers Joseph and Danny Hulme, and Daniel Mallett had moments earlier stamped and kicked art student Mr Maltby into unconsciousness as Miss Lancaster tried to save him.
She died in hospital 13 days later. He survived, but is mentally and physically scarred after the attack.
All five teenagers were given indeterminate sentences for public protection after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to the attack on Mr Maltby.
Danny Hulme, 16, and Joseph Hulme, 18, of Landgate, Whitworth, near Bacup are each serving a minimum of five years and ten months and Mallett, 18, of Rockcliffe Drive, Bacup, is serving four years and four months.
Sentencing the youths, Judge Anthony Russell QC described the attacks as "feral thuggery".
The appeals against the sentences he imposed at the Crown Court had mainly centred on the ages of the teenagers.
Lord Judge described it as "appalling crime".
Dismissing the appeals of four of them, he said the appeal of Herbert was being allowed to a "very limited extent".

In most cases Goths is a stage which teenagers go though like years ago with the Ted's & rockers. What about punks they stood out just as much as Goths back in the 70's and 80's but I have not seen one punk in the last 10 years. Just a fad and nothing more.

Goth's are just another one of those generic groups that teens ironically join when they try to define their individuality. Are they odd? Oh yes! Are they evil? Not at all.
